Hi folks, I've been a long time lurker. I decided to start contributing more to these forums. I am 24 years old and work in the health industry. Most of my practical involvement is in union work. Since I remember I have always been left leaning. I grew up in the Balkans and the experiences of the early nineties oriented me towards anti-authoritarian politics.

I started seriously reading classical anarchist theory as a sophomore in high school. Started reading Marx, and moving to a humanist Marxist position. For a long time now I have been identifying with autonomist Marxism theoretically and politically. That is I am quite comfortable with a number of theorists and movements which emphasize the autonomy of workers. Autonomy of workers from both their official political organizations and unions. Tendencies which see workers taking initiative and end up as a active force in capitalist development, but at the same time a class which acts to transcend capitalist social relations.

This encompasses many theorists which would be in disagreement about a lot of things. The main commonality that they share is that capital must be destroyed as a social relation. To me this is communism, and to avoid all the confusion and to specify which tendencies I identify with I call myself a libertarian communist.

anyways folks, I look forward to future discussions and its nice to have forum of this nature where we can learn from each other.

Welcome to RevLeft. Sounds like you can jump straight into discussions, and from what you've written you'll have an interesting perspective on things.

Also, as part of my standard greeting, I'm am contractually obliged to tell you that anarchists have more fun. This position has been supported by polls and surveys on this website. If you wish for more information, then feel free to ask. (Considering most autonomist Marxists are anarchists in all but name, you may not need to ask.)
