Russia's Supreme Court has ruled that the last Tsar, Nicholas II, and his family were victims of political repression and should be rehabilitated.
It looks as though Russia has taken yet another step toward legitimizing its Tsarist past. I cannot say that I'm all too surprised by this ruling, as absurd as it is. It is very strange to say that the killing of a tyrant counts as 'political repression', or even if we admit that it was, that such political repression was wrong. Next they'll be saying that the revolutionaries were wrong to kill Louis XVI.
Anyway, discuss.
