Given the current economic crisis, what do you feel they should do to fix it? In other words what would you do if you were in charge?

Anarchism would fix it all!

My post in another forum:
Good move by Congress. The loans are 97% good. They have a stink to them--but my bet will be that they will perform long term.
This would be a time when people that know how to make money do so. And those that don't--don't.
I'm buying. This is the exact moment when he rich get richer. Please note it.

You're not still pretending you're a capitalist in real life are you? Everyone knows you're an internet nerd who enjoys online fantasies in which he can antagonise communists by pretending he is an unashamed factory owner. If you really were who you said you were, you wouldn't spend so much time on this forum.

If I weren't what I say I am--I'd be a fool not to. There 's a reason a a purpose to people's lives. I'd be would be amiss of me not to respect that the value of how workers lives are spent.
But whatever. I'll be whatever you like. I'm not ever a Catholic--I'm an Episcopalian. :)

I would cut capital gains taxes to increase liquidity and investigate setting up an insurance pool for the questionable instruments.

Deregulation, the economy needs to figure itself out.
The reason we have this crises to begin with is because of the government involvement and regulation.
They told the loan companies "Dont check people's credit when they are applying for a loan" Sure enough all this peopel with bad credit who got a home loan aren't able to make their payments and so the loan companies are going belly up.
Let the companies go belly up, let people lose their home. They deserve it.
Did this people who bought homes care what would happen if they couldn't afford the payments? No they were just thinking about themselves. fuck them.

I would say that we should do nothing. When people take loans from a bank, they should be dead sure that things like this might happen, they know the risk that it might. Why take money from the people to pay the people that lost money from because of loans? That isn't fair in my opinion.
It should always be your own responsibility to be aware of the risks, and avoid them as much as possible. Even when running a bank.
EDIT: I don't know much about this at all since I'm not so much in to the economy in the USA, even though it affects us. Correct me if I got something wrong.

Personally i enjoy TomK's comments. Even if, in reality, he is actually a geeky freak who pretends to be a factory owner, his veiws are still interesting. On the other hand if he is a factory owner, then his veiws are still interesting.
