This is not an insult to the majority of french people just those cowardly individuals, who commited this act of petty vandalism.

Hmm shows how odd the french are, as a right wing country they should support the war, and i think the germans where extermly surprized with the amount of resistance the Frence have shown to the war. Next thing u know French Solilaists will be hosting flags with Che in the background and "support the war in Iraq" written on them. They are kwazy ppl the french.

I'm with RedCeltic. If it weren't for France, the US would never have existed (The French support for the American Revolution).
This war is, like all wars, injust. It is the act of legalized mass slaughter.

May war always exist as long as man walks the Earth. Peace is good, but to wish for peace everlasting? Now that's just foolishnes.

What? Would you get bored without war?
I do not get my 'thrills' from war.

What I have come to expect from the French. Their government has given the OK for an airport to be built over Australian war graves.

I don't think it is fair or reasonable to make judgments about France or the French based on the activities of a few anti-semitic nutballs.
I do think it interesting that these nutballs are trying to link their anti-semitism to the revulsion of French opinion for Bush and Blair, neither of whom are Jewish.
But such types have always been opportunistic to an extreme degree; if they thought it would be useful, they'd invent an anti-semitic "socialism" and try to win the support of non-Jewish workers against "Jewish capitalism".
They'd probably call it the National Socialist French Workers Party. It's been done before.

maybe if america hadn't sat out of BOTH world wars for so long, the casualties could have been lessened on ALL sides, not just america's
and yeah, america dropped two big ones in that war so screw em

God bless DC, as long as there are people like you in this world then we know that humanity will continually be blessed with wars and destruction.
As Plato once said: "only the dead have seen the end of war".

You misunderstand what thet place is. Its a mass cemetary, as well as a monument. But there political opinions do not bother me its the fact that they insult theose brave men who died to liberate their country. Dont you kind of think thats ingratitude at its highest?

So we are in favour of American intervention now are we? I sense a double standard. Your posts are Haggis*.
*Your posts are not really Haggis. Haggis is a kind of stuffed black pudding eaten by the scots and considered by them to be, not only fit for human consuption, but actually a delicacy. The minced heart, liver and lungs of a sheep, calf or other animals inner organs are mixed with oatmeal, sealed and boiled in the the sheep's intestinal stomach-bag and...excuse me for a moment...*barf*barf*...

True... But if it was a holacaust memorial would you say that... I doubt it. SO I accuse you of a double standard!!!(j/k)
No not really but still if you do that then it will be the first step to forgetting, and we should NEVER forget.
You should Read "Dulce et Decorum" by Wilfred Owen, the people he describes in that poem died to save france and that is the amount of respect they show them...

The families probably would care; why though? Why do people take corpses so seriously. I'm sure a lot of people do, but often it just becomes rediculous.

but redceltics bacically wrong. The USA got its indipendance with very little ouside help.
Yes so the french sent them a massive statue at the end of the fighting but that does not mean that the french won the fight ing for them.

In fact that's not really hard because americans think that our econmy is only based on wine and cheese.
But it's not.
What a bunch of childish people!
Moreover france make more business with some other countries than with the u$. And the u$ government have no inerests in boycotting french products because france can do the same with american products.
And there are only some rednecks who boycott french products, not a majority of the population.
This boycott is just pathetic and inefficient .
So relax and have a glass of french wine

I don't mean any disrespect to the dead, nor war vets... I'm a vet myself (although of peacetime) I just think monuments.. and graveyards are all a waste of money and land.
But hey, I think golf courses are a waste of land also.
Anyway, I didn't realize that these people where Nazis.. I thought that the swasticka was trying to say that the war was about imperalism and equating it to Nazis.. maybe I'm wrong..
Oh and the Swastika goes both ways so even if it's oposite of the way Hitler used it.. it's still right.

Personnally, I think it is best to let dead people go. Just remembering them, and whining, I mean wishing to bring them back won't help. I think it is best to forget painful things in life, no matter how hard it is, it is best to forget it.
Vandalism is low. But I don't think it is anyone else's problems than France's. Those people who did that are low, but it's not like it is the end of the world. I mean, it can be repaired, although it will cost some 'doe'. Oh well, I guess things are that way. Circumstances, people, it's circumstances...
And I am mostly against wars, war can cause nothing good. I don't have anything against revolts, I guess it has to be like that. But I think you should be careful when you revolt against a tyrant, you might just lower yourself to that person.
