Show me the Money

Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC
Didn't get to bed last night
On the way the paper bag was on my knee
Man I had a dreadful flight
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boy
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Gee it's good to be back home
Leave it till tomorrow to unpack my case
Honey disconnect the phone
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boy
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
That Georgia's always on my mind.
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boys
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Show me round your snow peaked mountains way down south
Take me to your daddy's farm
Let me hear your balalaika's ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm.
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boys
Back in the U.S.S.R

Though the Beatles made some of the greatest music I know, they were reformists.

He might be a capitalist pig but that's not the reason the are the greatest of all time. Even though hey were together since the late 50s or early 60s their hits didn't start rolling in until '62. They broke up in '70. In those 8 yrs they had so many hits that their greatest hits is on 4 cds......something like 50 songs and 25 of them were number 1 hits. Nobody has even comes close, at least not in a short 8 yr span. They rule!!!!!!!

They were definitely socially liberal.

John Lennon was more communist, then capitalist. he was also anti-war, so in your face.

Oh, this song sounds as if he is happy he is in the U.S.S.R. he talks about Ukranian and Russian chix. Doesne't he? Maybe it's how you sing it.

Fuck who, and in who's face? I know they were liberal fuckers and Lennon was in the anti war crowd, and they all turned into hippies around '67. Lennon was probably the most leftist of the bunch. MCCartney was less leftist I think. I heard John was being watched by the FBI cause he was so leftist and very popular.
Anyway, on the one hand they were filthy commie hippies, but on the other hand.....the music dude, the music...they rule!!!!
Palmares

McCartney IS less leftist. He is as leftist as Oprah Winfrey!
John Lennon was a cool hippie though.

Both the cool Beatles have died.
Seriously, when Paul McCartney make that song "Freedom" (I think) I was pissed. What hypocrisy. It's almost as bad as Neil Young's "Let's Roll."

It's gonna be a sad day when the last one dies. Who do you think will be last, Ringo or Paul? I think "The Beatles Anthology" dvd set went on sale today. I just saw a commercial for it.

I think Ringo will be killed by a pretzel.
Honestly, he really was the Dubya of the Beatles.

Don't rip Ringo, mate. He was Conducter before George Carlin!
Anyway, Back in the U.S.S.R. is a typical Beach Boys song (who were really great from a musical standpoint) with political lyrics applied.

Dubya is smarter than Ringo. He's not as Smart as Nixon for example, but he has a moral clarity. He sees issues as black and white, no grey areas.
Anyway, I don't think there could ever be a group as great as the Beatles again.

John Lennon - Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And [no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
This should probably be in Music.

Well, that's certainly something only a capitalist could praise. The decline of Western civilization at its finest.
Dubya is smarter than Ringo.
As I said in my State of the Union address, liberty is not America's gift to the world. Liberty is God's gift to human -- to the human -- mankind.

This is a -- we've got some mighty challenges -- to make sure the country is more prosperous and more hopeful, and the world more peaceful. But sin duda, we're gonna achieve what we need to achieve, porque este país es gra -- es, es, es, es un gran país, with great values and great hope and great strength.

And so those are two aspects of this plan that makes sense. One is how to encourage people to have -- how do we encourage Congress to let people have more money in their pocket, for the good of economic growth and jobs. And what do we do about stimulating small business activity and growth. The third aspect of the plan is really to make the tax code more fair.

Some mom fixing to have a baby wonders out loud -- when she wonders out loud whether or not the doc is going to be there to deliver the baby, it's a -- we heard a story, by the way, about that -- it's a sad situation.

You said we're headed to war in Iraq -- I don't know why you say that. I hope we're not headed to war in Iraq. I'm the person who gets to decide, not you.

I try to go for longer runs, but it's tough around here at the White House on the outdoor track. It's sad that I can't run longer. It's one of the saddest things about the presidency.

Why is this thred called paul mcartney, the song was written by Lennon!
Show me the Money
3rd April 2003, 19:49
it was actually written by Paul McCartney and Mike Love of the Beach Boys, but officially(like all numbers) it's written by both Lennon and McCartney.
Scotty.

Shame, it may have had some meaning if lennon wrote it, but if it was written by mcartney and the beach boys then its probly just sarcasm overload.
