View Full Version : Question about life after a workers class revolution?

I'm not entirely sure if I am going to phrase this question as exactly what I mean, as I am not so good with words.
After a revolution of the working class, and the ruling class is overthrown and there is one class united and everyone is happy and all that, what exactly will happen to private property? Will you still own the land your house is on? And like the general property, like farms and stores and town hall or whatever the equivilant will be not private, but your home still will be?
And what is the general communists view on like different cultures? If the main goal is for everyone to the equal and the same, what happens to that? Or do they want everyone equal only in like the sense of their class, and they can celebrate whatever holidays, celebrations, religions, adn whatever they want if they please? I mean in the past communist gov. have done this, banning religion and culture form people, but I also know that most of those gov. weren't really communist, but like dictators. Like the USSR? Will religion be forced to be phased out for everyone or is it possible to allow people to keep their religion? Like I am not a religious person what so ever at all. But many of the holidays I celebrate and enjoy are based on the relgion I was born as and based on my nationality, I mean I still enjoy them despite the relgious undertones because I get to see my family, eat tons of awesome food and just have fun. Would banning religion be like a form of censorship? Because I thought that religion and culture were thought to distract people from the fact that their class is the only thing that can unite them? I don't know if anyone can actually get what I'm wondering about lol but I'd apperciate it if they'd try lol. Thanks :) And sorry for the possible poor spelling and grammer. I'm not the best typer.

religion and culture

I think different communist have different views on religion and culture .Just look at the debates here.

Even Cuba and China are now open to religion just drive around you see lots of stuff that are religion or so like paintings and pictures.

What some communist will like to do is make a new culture and do away with religion .The US culture is about me not we :cursing: Get rich get greedy .

The poor, the weak, homeless , supress get walked over in the US and is okay by their culture:cursing:

Has for socialism the state will private housing. For communism the community will private for the house. In capitalism a house is a privilege not a right and a capitalists will provide the house affter getting money for it.

Well, there is a distinction between property and possesion. The stuff you use daily (clothes, furniture etc) are your possesions. If your possesions are not in analogy with your needs, there they will be reduced to it.I.e.,a four-membered family owning a house of 300 m^2 would of course be moved to a simpler one,or a number of families would move in with them.Meaning that in the example of housing, all houses would be redistributed to fullfil the need of housing of the workers' families.

The equality we say,it is directed to the rewards they reap from the community, according to their needs. The 'slogan' of communism is in contrast with strict 'equality'.
"From each according to hir/her abilities,to each according to his/her needs.

People with different/more needs would be payed "unequally" compared with others. And that is the point, the satisfying of human needs.

banning religion and culture form people
Do you mean demolishing churches and stuff? That is different. That is not 'banning a religion,it is excluding it from the community's 'status quo'.
You would be free to practise your religion, but since religion and theism is a logicall fallacy,an unproven belief, then do not expect the community to support it and spend resources on it.

Moreover, think about what you say. What you enjoy isn't the religion but the socialising, meeting your family and stuff. In the capitalist world, we get to socialise in such a manner, under the excuse of religious/national holidays, because the everyday life is suppressing such actions. In a society with lots of free time and with the fullfilment of human needs to its maximum, such 'miscellaneous' events (as they seem today) will be a full part of a person's life.

Communism leads to living life to its most complete extent.

And welcome to the forum :)
