superpower always had some kind of way to project power,

the usa got aircraft carrier and the marines corps
the soviet union has his airborne forces
china have its economy.

but seriously, do you think its important for a strong communist country to have power projection capabilities?

Personally, I think it's almost a lost cause. Focus on arming your people more than wild card deterrents like nukes, and focus on spreading the revolution. If you don't, your country will ruin itself keeping up in arms races as happened with the Soviet Union.

What, exactly, do you mean by "power projection?" Intimidation? Force? Potentiality?

Your question is extremely unclear.

Thats a good question, and a very hard one, considering the military, propeganda, and resourse control that major Capitalist powers have. I really doubt in this day and age Anarchist spain could have lasted as long as it did. The Zapatista territories are still around, by some amazing feat, I think the main thing they did right was they have GREAT pr, which is a Capitalist nation pretending to be a democracy's worst enemy, if many people sympathies with you, and you can't demonize them, you have to either live with it, or do something covert. So far the Mexican government has had to just live with the Zapatistas. Marcos is a genious at pr and defending his worthy movement.

Most free socialist revolutions will be crushed as soson as they begin to rise, historically thats mainly been the case. But for one that manages to survive early on, I think the most important thing is good PR, and popular support.

Obviously as revolution spreads I think the Capitalist powers will probably give up a pretense to democracy and fight full on, and thats a different issue. Until then, when a revolution is still growing popular support and a good PR is most important, hold of the Capitalists from going full force for as long as possible.

That being said, the United States especially, is AMAZING at pr, and media control, simply ignoring atrocities, explaining them away, demonizing people, making idols, and so on.
