Activists of the Iranian Revolutionary Socialists' League (in exile), the editorial board of Militant (in Iran)* and the Workers' Action Committee (Iran) will from now on continue their activity on the basis of a joint Tasks and Principles document and Workers' Action Programme inside a single tendency called the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency (IRMT). In order to strengthen the IRMT they will end their activities inside the previous organisational structures.
The Tasks and Principles document, Workers' Action Programme and the present statement were adopted unanimously at the first conference of the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency on 21-22 September.
Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency will begin its activities as the Iranian section of the International Marxist Tendency.
From now on Militant will be published as the journal of the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency.
We invite all Iranian revolutionary Marxists to assist and join the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency in the task of making organised interventions in the labour, students' and other social movements, and ending the long period of scattering and dispersion among us.
The Tasks and Principles document and Workers' Action Programme will be published as the programme of the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency.

This policy applied to Iran is absolute lunacy.
There is no "labour, students' and or other social movement" in Iran which is even close to being socialist or social-democrat, at least not any which is a "traditional mass organization/party".
Joining one of those for entryism is totally pointless, or, well, actually no; it's reactionary and harms the development of the workers' movement of Iran.
Seriously, entryism is a tactic, not a principle set in stone to be followed in all circumstances and at all times.
Basically the IMT is inviting Iranian Marxists to tie a rope around their necks.

What policy are you talking about?
We are not performing entryism in Iran!
I am not an expert in Iranian politics or our tactics in Iran but from what I know we do not perform entryism and we are an underground group.
Also the article did not talk about entryism

But I just quoted a part from the article which did say that:
We invite all Iranian revolutionary Marxists to assist and join the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency in the task of making organised interventions in the labour, students' and other social movements, and ending the long period of scattering and dispersion among us.
What else do they mean by "organised interventions in the labour, students' and other social movements"? Do they mean to do so independently?
If so, I'm sorry if I misunderstood that part.

The IRMT is the section of the IMT in Iran that just affiliated to the IMT.
And it certainly does not perform entryism as there are no conditions for entryism in Iran.
It just calls the unorganized Iranian Marxists to organize in the IRMT to make organized inteventions in the labour movement and student movement.
This building of an independent organization in Iran with trotskyist ideas is a huge leap forward for the subjective factor in Iran as it is a united group of Marxists in Iran and abroad
EDIT: I wrote Pakistan instead of Iran in the original sorry

Ah ok, well in that case I agree with you, an independent Marxist/revolutionary socialist organization is what needs to be built in Iran right now. Materially the conditions are ripe for it, it just requires conscious effort on the part of revolutionaries, which sadly are in low numbers given the repressive nature of the state and some other factors.
One important factor is the disunity and fragmentation in the political exile community.

Thats it.
and that is what the IMT is trying to do and with great success apparently.
See how the IMt changes its tactics according to the conditions and it is not dogmatist on entryism?
Well I do not want the thread to derail on that discussion but we will be having this discussion on the Trot forum soon.

As I understand it the IMT section in Pakistan is part of the PPP. Am I wrong on this too or are you just going to scream liar again?
