You obviously get your news from al-jazeera. You probably didn't hear about the 12 US soldiers that were killed by Iraqi soldiers who were waving white flags. U.S. soldiers are putting themselves at a higher risk because they are trying to spare innocents.

Actually, I watch NWI (Newsworld International).
I find the American media to be too conservative. It never shows the whole story. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. Gobble up everything the government tells them without questioning it at all. Seems pretty one sided to me.

I speak only the truth. We merely seek to protect our interests, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

We merely seek to protect our interests, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. There is, if it means replacing democratically-elected leaders with fascist, bloodthirsty regimes (see: Zaire, Chile, Laos, et cetera), directly murdering innocent people for living under an unfavorable regime (see: 3.5 million dead innocents in Vietnam, 2 million in Cambodia, 500,000 in Laos, 2 million in Iraq, etc)... well, there's nothing wrong with that if you're a really sick fuck (which I'm beginning to think you are) but if you have a shred of decency and humanity, then you see something wrong there. By the way, you don't want me to whip out my pictures of dead babies in Palestine and Iraq. Trust me.

A independent organization is drawing from multiple sources, which meet certain criteria to keep track of the body count in Iraq. From what I have read they appear to have arrive at a credible method of estimating the number of casualties in Gulf War II. Right now the minimum civilian dead they are reporting is 361, while the maximun is 469.
source: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/background.htm
To put that number into perspective, we have a force the size of 290,000 personell in the region supporting combat operations. Of those, 100,000 are in Iraq. 6000 precision bombs have been dropped and 675 cruise missiles. To me, it is phenomenal that the civilian body count remains that low. This is further evidence of what we are paying for with the over 300 billion dollar budget that goes into defense spending.
source: Associated Press Report (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2003/03/29/national1351EST0598.DTL)
Never before, has the civilian casualty issue been such an important aspect of a war. We rely on a low civilian body count to effect the attitudes of the Arab world toward the United States. Its no wonder that our enemy's propagandists (Al Jazeera) would be trying to appeal to affect, by inflating the actual damage done, in an effort to counter our attempts. Even more disturbing is the way some American media outlets appear to be playing the same game, as our enemies.
Overall, we are doing a fine job of showing the world our intent. My thanks to the U.S. military and intelligence personell. Keep up the good work.

I have never banned GW but he has record of taking liberties with this board. For which he was banned 3 times. A banned member coming in with a new name is another such liberty. He should really just stay away.
