Whoever sang that song, "I Kissed A Girl" is more revolutionary than any of those posers.

(Seriously though...that must be the most annoying song in the world.)

Immortal Technique (Personal favorite when it comes to strictly revolutionary music), Talib Kweli, Mos Def (i don't particularly care for his work, but he does have a revolutionary bent), Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, Blackalicious. But immortal tech is the only one that is almost purely revolutionary in subject.

Patatag, ARMAS, Tambisan sa sining, Musikangbayan, Jess Santiago, Buklod (Noel Cabangon), Dong Abay, Chicoy Pura and Jose Maria Sison are good singers.

In my opinion Immortal Techniqe IS the most revolutionary band going right now (that is easily accessible in the U.S. and in English).

It's obvious they mean business, and they cut right through the inertia with the most potent lyrics EVER. :redstar2000:

Bob Marley and much of Jamaican music was strongly revolutionary, and I.M. is the only group that comes close to touching Reggae and Ska...

Sure middle class adult white folks won't be tuning in, but the people that are, are figuring a thing or two out from them. I.M. undoubtedly will have a measurable impact on the children coming out of some of those middle class homes too...... Something like how Rap hit suburbia in the early 90's giving rise to it's cross cultural popularity today. That's a bit different, but ask some of the new leftist's 15 years from now, who their earliest influences where and I.M. is going to be up there. :)

I gotta give props to Zearle. He is not as hardcore as Technique as far as edgy lyrics, but they are far more revolutionary.

Rage Against the Machine always gets me going. Especially the line in "New Millenium Homes" :

A fire in the master's house is set!

makes me want to shoot a CEO's private jet out of the sky with an RPG

Apart from what's already been mentioned.
Try:

Flobots; alternative rap/rock with a strong anti-capitalist viewpoint.
(I really recommend these guys, listen to the song "Stand Up", you wont be disappointed)

And some more underground metal bands...
Panopticon;Black metal with anarchist views.
Jarost Marksa; Black metal with revolutionary communist views.
Wolves in the Throne Room; Black metal with an ecofeminist view.

The Pinkerton Thugs. I like their lyrics.

Through the ruin, through the squalor
Through the hate
Through the iron bars of the factory gate
Through the pestilence, the famine
And the death
Capital will draw its final breath!
War!
