Our Party and Manifesto

We believe in achieving a peaceful, and purely democratic socialist state, where the wealth is in the hands of the workers to be distributed equally, and live in communal peaceful co-existence.

In order to achieve this we propose the following list of points:

* Abolition of private property, property in land, in order to provide free housing for all.
* Reclaim the acres upon acres of land that are owned by the wealthy aristocrats, and have them built up into hospitals, extra housing, and other public services that will improve the standard of living for the worker in the UK. All for free.
* Place heavy, progressive taxes on wealthy aristocrats in order to redistribute their unfairly sought wealth amongst the true generators of profit, the workers.
* Removal of all private sectors and nationalising all public services, to create a free of charge, profit free industry that seeks to provide for the people, and not seek profit from the people.
* Redistribution of land fairly amongst all citizens in order to have a truely classless society.
* All factories, companies and other places of work are to be nationalised and put in the hands of the workers, who will decide on work matters democratically amongst themselves.
* The introduction of communal regions, so that direct democracy is to be implemented successfully.

Your point of "Abolition of private property, property in land, in order to provide free housing for all" is in direct contradiction to your point of "Redistribution of land fairly amongst all citizens in order to have a truely classless society."
How can you redistribute land if private property is abolished? Communism implies collective ownership and not just a fairer redistribution for a larger amount of individuals. Unless it's a round-about way of saying just that.

"Place heavy, progressive taxes on wealthy aristocrats in order to redistribute their unfairly sought wealth amongst the true generators of profit, the workers."
Progressive taxation is not only reformist, it even assumes a continuation of inherited wealth and the state . The manifesto also sorely lacks to mention abolishing wage labour, which I would assume to be important for a communist manifesto.

On another note, if it's a forum what is the relevance of a manifesto?
Or is the startup for a party? If so, it could probably use some work.

Just some friendly critique, good luck nonetheless.

I would pretty much ignore the manfiesto for now, it was quickly drawn up as we needed something for the homepage, we need to get round to improving it.

Nah, many people on the forums have conflicting views. We have a user who claims to be a communist yet is quite clearly a serbian nationalist, and are trying to turn him properly. We could use some members, as it seems we have little of them but the ones we have are active. So yes, to sum up, ignore the manifesto until we we finish it.

United Comrades is the site for all users, where the Political party "United Communists of Britain" uses as their site too. I'm not really into the UCB yet as much as I would like to be. The site is for everyone, but people from the UK can get more out of it. One of our admins, RSOA, is a American.

Party manifesto? What kind of 'party' might that be?

What? I'm just wondering what party we're talking about. Judging by the forum posts, it doesn't seem to be too serious. A 'United' communist party based on an internet forum, with 'important votes' about how many houses people can own? Why not join the existing movement and make yourselves useful in the struggle, instead of just playing pretend-politics on the web? No offence meant.

None taken, as your wrong.

We had a meeting yesterday with 50% higher turnout and are attending Socialism 2008 on November 8th.

Yeah, but what's the point of making a new 'party'?

Fine, we'll close it

It's staying, I know there are a lot of parties but this one of the few that actually does something in the UK. We are in fact attempting merges with other smaller parties, hence the term "united."

And why party in inverted? You deliberately trying to be rude?

75 new members in the past 3 days? Weird.

I removed some staff and the socialist party is going to be using UC now. But could do with some new staff members. :)
