Its a fantastic film, one of my favourite European movies.

At times the plot is too personalized, particularly the love triangle. The first quarter of the film is a brilliant account of the activities of anarchistic, rebellious young people. It should have continued in that direction.

The youngsters in the film do not have a coherent ideology. Their terrorist tactics are counterproductive. Their excesses are exploited by reactionary forces in order to discredit the entire Left camp, most notably the communists.
