View Full Version : American Terrorists? - American diplomacy at it's finest

America has knowingly sponsored and carried out assassinations, or attempts therof for years. Isn't this a form of terrorism in a sense? Even after assassination was outlawed by the president in the late seventies, it has continued well into the 21st century. We get by this law by using other means to do our dirty work. Apparently, lobbing a missile or two at the leader of another country does not constitue an assassination attempt. Should our president be attacked or killed in this way we would most definetly call it an assassination attempt.

1949 - Kim Koo, Korean opposition leader
1950s - CIA/Neo-Nazi hit list of numerous political figures in West Germany
1950s - Chou En-lai, Prime minister of China, several attempts on his life
1950s - Sukarno, President of Indonesia
1951 - Kim Il Sung, Premier of North Korea
1950s (mid) - Claro M. Recto, Philippines opposition leader
1955 - Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India
1957 - Gamal Abdul Nasser, President of Egypt
1959 - Norodom Sihanouk, leader of Cambodia
1960 - Brig. Gen. Abdul Karim Kassem, leader of Iraq
1950s-70s - José Figueres, President of Costa Rica, two attempts on his life
1961 - Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, leader of Haiti
1961 - Patrice Lumumba, Prime Minister of the Congo (Zaire)
1961 - Gen. Rafael Trujillo, leader of Dominican Republic
1963 - Ngo Dinh Diem, President of South Vietnam
1960s - Fidel Castro, President of Cuba, many attempts on his life
1960s - Raúl Castro, high official in government of Cuba
1965 - Francisco Caamaño, Dominican Republic opposition leader
1965-6 - Charles de Gaulle, President of France
1967 - Che Guevara, Cuban leader
1970 - Salvador Allende, President of Chile
1970 - Gen. Rene Schneider, Commander-in-Chief of Army, Chile
1970s, 1981 - General Omar Torrijos, leader of Panama
1972 - General Manuel Noriega, Chief of Panama Intelligence
1975 - Mobutu Sese Seko, President of Zaire
1976 - Michael Manley, Prime Minister of Jamaica
1980-1986 - Muammar Qaddafi, leader of Libya, several plots and attempts upon his life
1982 - Ayatollah Khomeini, leader of Iran
1983 - Gen. Ahmed Dlimi, Moroccan Army commander
1983 - Miguel d'Escoto, Foreign Minister of Nicaragua
1984 - The nine comandantes of the Sandinista National Directorate
1985 - Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, Lebanese Shiite leader (80 people killed in the attempt)
1991 - Saddam Hussein, leader of Iraq

Slobidan Milosevic should also be added to this list, as there are reports of several attempts on his life during our time in Yugoslavia. I am not saying that all these people were good people, but I'm sure assassination is wrong by most peoples account. How can we be taken seriously in the international community when this is how we react when we don't get our way. It's downright childish. I am not anti-American in any way, but our policy of assassination over the last 60 some odd years is rather disgusting. If anyone knows of anyone not listed on this list, please respond, because I would like to know.

only 20,000,000+ innocent people killed in the name of communism/socialism.

Not only is this sourcless. Not only have I gone over this with people a million times, having to point out that it is impossible for an ideology to kill. Even if that many people died, it would have been the result of democide; caused by the leader's political idology; not the economic values of communism.

Would you like to talk about killing? How about the 2,000,000 people your country killed in Vietnam? How about the some 10,000,000 natives that inhabited this country that have suddenly dissapeared? How about the over 25,000,000 African Natives killed throughout during your 'glorious' age of slavery? Do you want to talk about opression and 'purging'? How about McCarthyism? Civil Rights? Does that ring a bell? Maybe you would like to go back to the 'good ol days' of Klan lynchings, 'Whites Only' signs, and Hollywood Blacklists.

Dyke Brocolli,

25,000,000 African Natives killed throughout during your 'glorious' age of slavery

Now there is an interesting statement.

Would a rancher shoot his tractor and put it out of comission? No of course not...Why would a cotton farmer from the south shoot a slave which was basically his tractor?
IT DID NOT HAPPEN on a mass scale...If anyone killed or hurt them it was the dutch and the English traders.
25,000,000?Where did you get that #?

BTW Africans sold other africans into slavery after wars.Still to this day it's happening.

BTW my family was in Sweden till 1918...

How about McCarthyism
Yes I agree old Joe was a fine American.
We WERE AT WAR dyke...

The natives?
Well savage men ran rampart at those times.I probably would have been in Cuba with the Rough Riders myself..
Btjmo...

WWPD?

Thank you for your lies and untruth,

slave which was basically his tractor

That's a rather curious statment to make. Most slaves died on the way over from Africa, and that did happen on a mass scale.

Twenty million people? Simply lies, really I can’t say much more other than the fact that this sort of rhetoric is deplorable.

Indeed Thursday. Capitalists are good at making up numbers. This is how they come up with their huge paychecks and end up winning elections.
