Finally! My Arab friends have been talking about Al Jazeera increasing English coverage for a long time, but I guess it's been hard because their Arabic programming is spreading so fast and gaining popularity.

However, I cannot access the site. Maybe it's down because it's busy...

BTW, it's funny how in the Arab world Al Jazeera are viewed as going far out of their way to be balanced, by inviting Israeli government officials and such for interviews and giving the American anti-Arab angle on various stories.

At the same time the U.S. apparently sees them as one step above Al Qaeda, lol

My answer (http://www.che-lives.com/cgi/community/topic.pl?forum=22&topic=1895) to Al-Jazeera.

ROFLMAO, my point exactly!

Dude, if you had watched Al Manar (Hezbollah TV) and similar channels daily you would see what pro-Arab bias looks like. Al Jazeera is conspicuously balanced and that is why it's loved in the intellectual communities of the Arab world at the moment, and hated by the religious communities.

But I suppose you just don't like seeing "sandniggers" and "ragheads" on your TV unless they're in chains and organge jumpsuits.

"Al Jazeera is conspicuously balanced"

That's hillarious.

And another person with no understanding of the context of the Middle Eastern media of which I was speaking, welcome!

I almost forgot my most important point: CNN is the one waging war alongside it's American allies.

em·bed

v. em·bed·ded, em·bed·ding, em·beds
v. tr.

1. To fix firmly in a surrounding mass: embed a post in concrete; fossils embedded in shale.
2. To enclose snugly or firmly.
3. To cause to be an integral part of a surrounding whole: "a minor accuracy embedded in a larger untruth" (Ian Jack).

CNN is the one waging war alongside it's American allies.

Not nearly well enough. We have the capability of completely destroying the enemies propaganda, and we should do it as soon as the intelligence benefit of allowing them to operate is less valuable than the benefit of knocking them off the air. Clearly, you did not read the post I referred you to, as I addressed many of these points in that paper. Take a look, and give me some decent feedback. It would be greatly appreciated.

"Knock them off the air", indeed.

Or anyone else who dares to dispute American domination of the planet.

For all that you pro-capitalists endlessly yammer about "free speech", you always show your real colors when serious and credible opposition arises.

I'll bet you guys just hate it that millions of ordinary people are turning off their tvs and turning on their pcs...and learning some of the truths about your disgusting empire and its actions.

There's worse to come, ghostwriter, and you know it. What happens when there are weblogs from the jungles of Colombia, the Iranian plateau, the hills of North Korea and Afghanistan...everywhere your empire does its bloody deeds?

What happens in a world where there are no official secrets? What happens to a system founded on secrecy then?

The collapse of the USSR was nothing compared to what's going to happen to your empire!

hee hee!

I am glad the world can read and see the images from this minor conflict.I am glad the rest of the world is watching Saddam get his ass mopped and those Americans come out to be victors.

Redstar,my hippie friend.Do you have one of those small gray ponytails?I bet your a lonely man.Praying on children to do the deeds that your frail body will not allow you to accomplish any longer.sad really, living with false ideas that always ended up hurting people in the past.

I was at the WTO protests here in Chicago last year. The young kids were out front chanting while the old men where in the back egging them on.I figuered that if tshtf the old men would bug out and leave the kids to destroy and be destroyed.Quite a tactfull way of thinking really.
If your a coward.

I punked out several that were my age. They were wearing berkinstocks and had dirty dreads in thier hair. One picked a rock up and looked like he wanted to throw it at me.He quickly realized that would not be a bright thing to do.It was a sight to see and a memory that will never fade.

USA will never die.It will only get stronger.

GhostWriter: All I have to say is that Al Jazeera is indeed pro-arab, but you have seized uppon the minor accuracy in lue of the larger untruth. The only way to judge the level of their "bias" is by the ridiculously pro-American stance taken by the world media at large.

The entire media discourse in the west is anti-Arab, one station giving a different picture is of course by the Western definition "bias" in the other direction.

Ah, more insults from the brave and mighty warrior, Chiak47. The sputtering hatred of even micro-enemies reassures me that I'm doing something right.

No, Chiak47, I don't have a gray pony tail...in fact very little gray at all, so far...in fact, very little hair...so far.

Nor do I dress to fit your stereotype...if you saw me on the streets of Chicago, you wouldn't even notice me. I plan it like that.

You'd "think" (or whatever happens in your peabrain) that "there's some harmless old dude" even while I was busy planning the next blow against your empire.

Frustrating, isn't it? I could be sitting next to you on the el figuring out how to utterly crush everything you believe in...and you wouldn't even notice. (No body odor, even.)

You think you know what lefties look like...you can spot them a mile away. What a pustulant dummy you are! Lefties look just like everybody else; there's no way to tell clear thinking from outside.

Not that you'd recognize clear thinking anyway. Like the SS in the German Reich, "your loyalty is your honor" and that is what you employ in place of a brain.

Since your courage is such that it must be confined to internet insults, why don't you find a nice, simple video game to play and leave politics to those with three-digit IQs...pac-man should suit you just fine.

Redstar,
That was deep.Holy shit I'm going to shoot people at random now.You might be father in law.
No body odor? You come along way from the 60's,baby.

I bet you either have a rainbow flag or a peace sign on your vehicle or as a keychain.Am I right?Something about you will catch my eye.It will be fast.Maybe a earing. The way you toss your hand around.

I bet the day the fires get hot and your out there walking the streets of Chicago or where ever I like will spot you and I will know what your about.

It might be on the BART.By the Wharf.I don't wear flauge nor combat boots.I look like a industrial worker.

B T W, redstar,great post.It was filled with detail.

Well, i think most of us have CNN (a channel that is totally gringo, and say a lot of lies), but we need the other point of view (Al jazeera). Unfortunatly the coalition attacked their channel by saying that they are just changing the news to make propaganda for Iraq (and CNN is not making propaganda for the allies??)...
So, now we donīt have their channel on air, or their web site!

More fun with Chiak47. :cheesy:

No ear rings. No funny-looking clothes. No rainbow flags. No peace signs. No vehicle!

But here's a hint. I'm taller than you.

Here's another hint. I'll be smoking non-filtered cigarettes.

Last hint. I'll be wearing sunglasses...even on a cloudy day.

Watch for me, pissant.

The site is reported to have been hacked and only about 1% of the people in the U.S. who tried to reach it got through on Wednesday.

Keep trying!
