I can only post in this section. I'd like more commies to come and "play". Sorry for the crude title. I hope it got your attention.

Come and play what exactly? Wouldn’t debate have been a better choice of word?

Idiotic play on words. But the advertisment got your attention didn't it?

Yes, it did.

Don't count on these communists to leave the security of a board that largely mimicks their political viewpoints. They are not like you or I. We appreciate a challenge, and seek to confront those we believe are wrong. They do not believe in such absolutes, and would rather hide behind a group phenomenon to shield their philosophical errors. Groupthink is a large aspect of their ideological foundation, as they count on the hive mind to further there cause.
Hey Kelvin, I will bring my groupthink essay over to youdebate.com, so it can be debated over there. It never did spark a decent debate here, probably because of its large degree of accuracy. Hopefully, the fresh perspective of the intelligent members of youdebate.com will allow me to refine my ideas. Isn't that the point of discussion, in the first place?

What the hell are you talking about, SN? Seriously, there are probably three major members of the site who regularly post in here. You really are full of shit.

i'm no commie, but you have to remember this is a leftist board. it doesn't says it a hard core political debate forum. i think the idea of it is to discuss leftist issues without the input of right wingers. there are plenty of other forums out there to debate between left and right. put a few of them in the websites section and i'm sure people'd be happy to go there and debate.

If the debating style of these new "Cappies" that recently came over from youdebate.com is any indication of the kind of messageboard that is.... I would suggest the admins change the name to "Flamefest2003".

Please find a post where I have flamed someone or used profanity. I have been on the receiving end of both. All I have asked for is the common decency you treat any stranger. I believe I shown an excess of that kind of decency.

Flaming is now being used like the term racism. It has become a way of silencing the opposition without having to back up your argument. Kelvin also asks the tough questions, and you wil probably ban him, as you did me. Pleas point me to the threads where Kelvin has flamed. I don't think there have been any.

Yeah, but you still have the security blanket of having us outnumbered. Besides, when you are getting your asses handed to you, you simply ban those who disagree with you.

Kelvin: Actually I wasn't thinking of you when I said that...but several others that may or may not have come from there... one in particular that was banned.
Stormin Norman: You know why you where banned. You are only here to give out personal attacks.
In the first month or so I would agree that you had contributed to debate, but since than I have seen nothing from you but personal attacks. Capitalist Imperial contributes more to debate than you even though he's only slightly less arrogant than you are.
If continue to showboat in your posts on youdebate.com I am quite sure that even they will tire of your nonsence.
I believe you are only here to boost your own ego. When one comes to a place with the assumption that they are 100% correct and everyone else is wrong, you might as well pack it in. If you really wanted to win an argument, you would take the time to see where your opponent is coming from, and than frame your response in a manner that he can relate to.
For example... a sound argument is, "Despite the best intentions, communism relies on a strong centralized government that's doomed to corruption."
That's a sound argument. Some who lean to anarchism like myself may agree with it, and others that lean to more authoritarian systems may think that a decentralized government leads to corruption.
An unsound argument, and one that I've heard constantly on this board.... is that communism is for either lazy/stupid people who want everything in life that normal people work hard for... handed to them on a sliver platter, or it's for power hungry saps, who want to trick the public into letting them into power, and then hang them by their feet in dungeons.
While there had been good points raised in the past, even by the likes of you Stomin Norman... quite frankly as of late all arguments have been in the nature of the latter example.
Another thing I don't understand is why conservatives who come and post on Che lives have to be so much like cartoons? Some of the things that have been said by supporters of capitalism over the past in this forum, one would think where said to make them look badly. Take the war issue for example. I debate with conservatives in real life almost weekly, in formal and informal settings and I have noticed that conservatives will never say they are "pro war" they don't think war is a great thing, and wish we could have found an alternative to solving the problem, but unfortunately now is the time for action.
And on the Israel Palestine issue, even among those that think Israeli occupation of the west bank is ok... the do not support building of new settlements, destruction of Palestinian homes, and would surely be more tactful than to cheer for the death of Rachel Corrie.

I'd be happy to reply to that even though I'm an anacho-socialist and not a communist..
...however I don't see that thread. My answer to that would not be favorable to communists nor capitalists... :)

Besides, when you are getting your asses handed to you, you simply ban those who disagree with you. Wow. You are completely full of shit. We banned you because you asked to be banned - and not just a figure of speech, you literally asked to be banned. We banned Old Friend not because you were 'handing our asses to us' but because you singled out and insulted a valued member of the community. We would not have banned Commie ***** Slapper were it not for the extremely offensive name.
(Personally, I think you've had your three strikes.)
Now, would you care to give me a single incident when we banned someone when they were "handing our asses to us"? CI has been here for a long-ass time, too, and I don't see him as having gone anywhere.
You've been here with a healthy dose of flaming added to your debating for almost a year now. You are entirely full of shit when you say that we ban capitalists when they disagree with us.
Flaming is now being used like the term racism. It has become a way of silencing the opposition without having to back up your argument. Would you like a little cheese with your whine?

Flaming: Making a personal attack instead of legitimate debate. Example: "Hey Commie, come over here and play? Chicken? BWOK BWOK BWOK"
That is what most of the new breed of cappies are doing instead of debating, especially Chiak. Stop it.

Was it a flame? I am sorry.

It was, but don't worry.
I'd go for free beer, as long as it wasn't american shit:-) If I wanted piss with water I could make that myself!
Free sex? Prostitution sucks ass man.

Oh I don't know, I think jokes like that are acceptable when the majority of your posts are fairly decent. It's only when that become what all your posts are all about is when we have a problem.
I don't see that with kelvin90701.. He's a union man so I have respect for him. :)

Nah. Come on man. We don't need that. If you changed your perspective and spoke about how to make communism better rather than trying to point out the faults, it would be acceptable.

I am asking the tough questions.
Pop stars with managers, groupies, and tons of money loose perspective on life when everyone is telling them how great they are. Eventually pop stars really start to believe how great they are; but don't notice how their 3 album really sucks and tanks, but they still believe how great they are. Then when they are into risky sex and drugs, they still believe they are great because everyone is telling them so.
Sounds a lot like the "Theory" section.

A lot of the time we criticize or argue about issues among our selves. It isn't 'go commie go' it is 'what the hell does this mean?'

Ever notice the way that didn't happen to Lee Perry? Why - because he is honest with himself and always right.
That sounds like the theory section to me.
In all seriousness, I don't think you are being realistic in the slightest, it's not as if the Theory section is floating away in a dream world - it's on the same board as this forum.
This forum is for opposing idealogies. You analogy is totally flawed.
