Well, I lived the era and knew Harvey, when, as an out-of-work actor with his hair in a braid down to his ass, he opened his little camera store in SF. I don't really think Penn for all his brilliance can relate to those times and personalities. It was a time when both drugs and rent were cheap, the gay community had started a social revolution and the innocence of the 60's was in the Castro's air( but I'll see it anyway).
