Looking at the US system today and in Canada , I found 2 critical mistakes that jeopardize democracy .
1.businesses in goverment
2.Lobbying doing election.
Bush was a rich taxes oil guy.You cannot run for politics if you are poor ,lower-class , middle class you have to be upper class and have lots of money. And most are lawyers or work in the court .
NOT to say republicans who where businesses guys or have friends that are capitalists.
And lobbying groups or intrest groups trying to influence policy by giving money doing campaining
I know that after election is over they cannot give money but still !!
It is up to the working class to take control of businesses and the government;)
Yet there still no communist or socialist party. It is clear businesses control the government:(

Well, you're wrong.
Special interests can give money after the election, too.
The problem is there is no perfect system. It is both a practical and a mathematical impossibility.

And you'd know all about being a mathematical impossibility, you scumbag.
Well, this thread was going nowhere anyway.

I'm absolutely floored by people who think the poor steal from the rich using the welfare state. Even with little research it's pretty obvious that investors are stealing billions every year with the tax system and use of incorporation rights.

Thats just a small part of it, it does'nt matter how democratic the state is, if the money is controlled in a totalitarian manner (Capitalism), you can't have real democracy, because money is power, big power, money talks. And Money is resources and thats what really counts.

Prohibit politicians from accepting money from lobbyists or anyone else. Make sure all lobbying is transparent, along with public transcripts.

Wooooahhh, where did that come from? I was agreeing with the OP, sarcastically saying "you're wrong" because it's actually worse than he described.
Sheesh, you guys, sometimes...
