Is anyone else here into Bob Marley's music and roots reggae in general? I've been listening to Bob for around 25 years now and his music still never fails to inspire me. He was and still is the voice of the oppressed the world over. Other reggae artists I love are Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Culture, Dennis Brown..there's loads. If you're into Bob what does his music mean to you?

War is one of his most political songs, and a good message.

Bob Marley is good, but my absolute favorite reggae-musician is Lee "Scratch" Perry.
Who also produced alot of others, including the Junior Murvin classic Police & Thieves.
A great reggae tune is Big Youth's Every Nigger Is A Star:

Heh yeaaaah Big Youth there, classic 70s deejay. I agree Lee perry is one of the greats. Groundbreaking producer but also sang some great songs himself. His 'Dreadlocks in moonlight' is a classic. I don't know what's become of him but the last I knew he'd moved to Switzerland to live with his wife. Hope they've got some good psychatrists in Zurich because Perry is most definitely very mad:lol:. If you haven't already got it I would recommend his 'From my Secret Laboratory' album.
