Thank you to the thousands of people who courageously faced 10 ton buses, concussion grenades, tear gas, pepper spray, batons, charging horses, gas masks, rubber bullets, and all of the tools of repression and intimidation that were used yesterday to repress the public in this supposed democracy.

"Thank you to the thousands of people who courageously faced 10 ton buses, concussion grenades, tear gas, pepper spray, batons, charging horses, gas masks, rubber bullets, and all of the tools of repression and intimidation that were used yesterday to repress the public in this supposed democracy.

Your direct actions stand in stark contrast to the conventioneers inside the Xcel Energy Center, passively dragging the party line and the rest of this world down with it.

We are inspired by the extraordinary people who stopped buses, blocked highway ramps, and breached concrete barriers to reclaim the streets and recapture the space of downtown St Paul" - From RNC WC, September 2, 2008
Full report to come. Here, find a photo essay in three parts. Part 1: Rally & Breakaway. Part 2: RNC Blockaded. Part 3: Battle for the Streets.

couldn't link to the rest of the parts, but i've been playing on u tube etc.
here in britain, the govt. and its "popular press" would have us believe the american working class is totally subserviant to the capitalist ideology of the republicans and democrats.
the more comrades like yourself post on boards like this, on u tube, on general politics news boards across all the isps, then more good work is done to dispel the illusions of isolation of national or european revolutionary groups.

lol i was hearing on my work, this right wing talk show host, commenting about some 1000, radical "lunatics" running from the police. So this is how the stuff looked like.

good job! i can't wait for more.

It's sickening to read about all of this from here. Here, the media mostly present things as a big feelgood party, as if the fairest and most democratic system in the 'free world' is proving its legitimacy yet again. In fact, it's a circus, and what goes on outside largely kept silent.

Big media don't give a shit. They're more interested in reporting attacks on journalists and protesters in Russia, China, Africa, Thailand, etc.

these UPs are good. a lot of participants were young and relatively inexperienced, and they came away quite demoralized. it was difficult just being around them. and by the way, i recognize some folks from some of those pics. dont forget to blot out faces if these are pics that are not yet on the net
