Fellow citizens, if the Hanoi Hilton could not break John McCains resolve to do what is best for his country, you can be sure the angry left never will.
LoL. The Democrats are "the angry Left." I wonder what we are?

Why would he be talking about socialists? We aren't considered serious opposition, so by default it must be the Democratic Party, which they attempt to paint as "radical."

I was watching the highlights on DN! and I was cringing the whole time watching all those wingnuts go on about missions, GOD, the US, and WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR!!!! Saying Obama is the most radical candidate EVER!!!!....please. Imagine if Thomas Jefferson's ghost ran today on an anti-capitalist, anti-domestic spying platform (just like in 1800). He'd be out of view in the debates just like Kucinich and Gravel.

Don't you understand that Obama is a communist in democrat's clothing? Once he's elected, all the necessary B.S. :D his handlers and political experts feed him drops away and the revolution begins, albeit slowly. Of course he's going to publically disavow Ayers and Wright. He running for president.

lol...
Of course they were implying the democrats (I edited my post wrong) although calling them the angry left is quite ridiculous, down right stupid. (at least in our perspective...)

Republicans cannot manage the intricate differences between anarchists and democrats. As for US media, they are partially to blame by just calling the protesters protesters, and not say under what label they are marching. Mostly because they want anarchists and the far left ignored.

It could actually be a reference to the protests.

only in attempt to link the protestors with the democrats in order to maybe discredit the democrats in the eyes of the conservative majority or to fool the left minority into thinking the democrats are an "alternative".
c'mon, it's bourgeouis political posturing ffs!
given there is no party of the working class capable of challenging these cock suckers in the usa, at the moment, what else could it be?

That's because in the narrowly framed political landscape of the U.S., we're not just on the left, we're labeled as a threat to the state and classed as terrorists.

Why do Republicans insist that Democrats are leftists? I think the current American political spectrum is idiotic. Democrats are not left, they are nothing more then centre-right. Heck, you couldn't even call them centrists considering they don't even believe in Social Democracy.
They are a center-right party that incorporate a few progressive ideals here and there. Overall, they are a party that caters to mainstream upper crust yuppie liberals that believe they're doing good by promoting "sustainable-capitalism", fair trade, "green markets" all other buzzwords that try to make up for the horrible crimes of neo-liberalism.

Well, at my age I'm just not so angry any more, 30 years of being angry didn't liberate anyone and it isn't good for my heart condition. Scorn and contempt is all I have for the sort of agents of corporate hegemony that make up the political class. Every time they open their mouths to parrot their allotted piece of the hegemonic narrative, they only demean themselves, frauds. liars, hypocrites, fools. The puppet masters behind them earn more of my respect, they are cunning, dangerous, and moved by an amoral pragmatic realism that requires clear-headed and honest thinking if they are to continually be maintaining and expanding their power. But very few of those set foot on the political stage, which they generally fill with their court jesters like Bush, to amuse, distract and divert the masses.

This is not shocking Michael Moore is considered a radical , try to get the NDP party from Canada or social democratic party they would think the US is gone nutts.Communism and socialism is considered a tin foil hat idea.It is the US media to blame for this .They just keep pushing more and more ultra conservative. The US is not far from fascism .And all it takes is other 911.
I use to debate before on conservative web sites so I know what they think. They think welfare money is bad ,free healthcare is bad ,liberty is bad , they think bush is not that bad , war is not that bad , they support the death penalty ,support police state ,support more police powers, police not that bad, they are anti-signal moms ,anti-comlaw partner ,anti- blacks and hispanics .
This web site is one of them , it is almost fascism site.Just look at the posts.

Please do not spam that group it will not convert them.My advice is to explain what communism and socialism is.And explain the problems in the US and evile elite ruling class.Remember explaining will help change peoples views and spamming will not.Even if we convert 5 people over there it is better than nothing.

surely as communists, we are that. or at least, we aim to be...
you won't find a country on earth which doesn't consider genuine communism terrorist and a threat to the state.

THis is why we need to not only post on left web sites. If all most people hear are Republicans and Corporate Democrats they will think "that must be the political spectrum" The internet can be good, but it can also marginalize and fragment what might otherwise be majorities. Nothing shows that more than 2004 and 2008 when huge majorities are being ignored in favor of raw mental sewage.
But this is a great opportunity to show how fake the dems are if we do it in places were there are dems. I think it is a mistake to be too cynical and fatalisitic about peoples ability to learn.

I don't see why this is even worth posting. Both parties attempt to maximize government control, there's only a difference in which function of government they want to increase power in. Republicans want to maximize government control over security and religious issues, Democrats want to maximize government control over your day-to-day life with heavier taxes and regulations. In the end, we'll end up with a more-or-less same system, the only difference will be who led us there.

I dont agree that the Republicans want to maximize controll over your day to day life less than the dems. WHo introduced NSA spy sattelites?/ THey both did. WHo introduced Faith based Inititiative. Privatization does not mean less government control. It means the same or more government control with even less accountability to the public.

Privatization does mean less government control, but only by a little, as the very existence of nonproductive elements in the private economy can only be justified by the existence of the state. If it were not for government monopolies on credit and government regulation of businesses, I doubt that we'd actually see non-productive capitalistic owners like we do today. Workers and consumers would instead choose to come together into cooperatives and self-manage their businesses.
In the end, both the Dems and the GOP are marching towards some perverse form of fascism or state socialism.

I dont disagree with your last statement. both are marching us toward fascism, and really i would argue we are already there. (sure its not the same type as in 30s more at a amedia level). I just see privatization as essentially a fascist merging of the state with private capital.

Of course it is. I was just pointing out that he could easily have been using the protests in his speech.
