Limit yourself to a list of five, music lovers, and fire in  This year has kicked 2007's ass musically, and there's been some great debuts and gigs (reformed My Bloody Valentine!) so far. Long may it continue!

My five, in no particular order:

1. Death Cab For Cutie 'Narrow Stairs'
2. Vampire Weekend 'Vampire Weekend'
3. Portishead 'Third'
4. Tegan & Sara 'The Con'
5. British Sea Power 'Do You Like Rock Music?'

Narrowly missing out on the list is Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan's 'Sunday At Devil Dirt'. Thoughts?

Sonic Youth's SYR7: J'Accuse Ted Hughes was cool.

Also some great bands reformed like Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, The Pharcyde, Green River and the somewhat decent Amebix.

Radiohead - In Rainbows

Technically 2007 ;) But nonetheless an amazing album.

I've not heard Beck's new album yet, any good?

I'd have to say my favorite is the bootleg of the show in San Diego where I saw Radiohead play live last week. Aaaaaw yeeeah.

Also, because of this thread I looked up albums from 2008 and discovered that Albert Hammond Jr. released a new one. Thanks for that.
