Global Day of Action Against Red Cross (29th August)
Last 28th May the Argentine Red Cross dismissed the teacher and our comrade Federico Puy from its secondary school because of ideological reasons. His Citizen Rights’ syllabus was questioned for “having a lot of ideological content”. The next day a dismissal telegram was sent to him with the typical pretexts used to rationalize firing precariousness labor around the world.
The secondary school students submitted a letter in which they asked for their teacher’s reinstatement, and because of that they were threatened and persecuted.
The Sociedad de Resistencia de Oficios Varios Capital (Resistance Society of Various Trades-Capital, a local union of the FORA-AIT) demanded the immediate reinstatement of the dismissed teacher using proletarian legitimate tools: direct action, demonstrations that included streets blocks, boycott and propaganda.
The employers sent repressive forces to all the demonstrations, offered money as the only way to solution the conflict and in every moment declared that the comrade would not be reinstatement.
That is why we still demand:
¡IMMEDIATELY REINSTATE THE DISMISSED TEACHER!
