How do people feel political propaganda is best disseminated to communities and why? For me at the foremost direct leafleting and the production of community newsletters are key to disseminating ideas in a community context. However it is also important to use direct action as a means of spreading ideas and as protest. Calling public meetings is also good idea as is doing stalls because you can engage with people face-to-face.

i agree with the idea of stalls, meetings and handouts. and sometimes direct action is the only tactic to take.

In my experience, the most effective means of spreading ideas is to talk to people face-to-face about it.
Personal example: when we squat a place, people's attitudes change pretty much according to the way we approach them.
When we don't do anything, just hang out banners, the mood is generaly against us, when we put flyers under the doors, the mood is generaly positive and when we talk to people, hand out flyers and invite them over, most people are actually supporting us and help us out with all kinds of stuff, like neighbours who give us extra furniture, offer to let us use their gardening equipment, ... or shop owners who give us leftovers form heir store.

So the best propaganda method would be one where you talk a lot to people, like a stall for example.

I find "hanging out" to be the most effective way to spread propaganda. In my experience going out to talk to people about politics usually puts me in a frame of mind which is to un-aproachable and to serious for most people and just leaves them disinterested. However if I'm just hanging out with people and bullshitting and it is in anyway possible for me to make a political statement that will obviously lead to some sort of comment or interest then I do.

I think people tend to see "political types" as snobbish.

I think the best idea is to send our ideas through something that people may read, maybe a newspaper of our own where we could sell it cheaply (as not to get in dept,no profit, just to cover needs) and we could sell it on the streets or have agreement with some kiosks etc. This could affect a lot of people in the same time, but it wouldnt have and the best result.I agree that the best way is a face to face talk but you cant do it with a lot of people its impossible, but if you pass hand writings in big numbers you get better results. Then of tose come some actions, demonstrations where we show our ideas, our goals, during the demonstration we call for people to join and learn,we have our plakats(?) saying some things. Moreover as TAT said public callings is also a good point where we could spread around there is one and let the people make their speach and listen oppinions and questions.

I have had success with producing DVDs (and other discs) with propaganda on them. Like burning a copy of a movie (you legally own) change the menu to include a leftist quote, also put your political organizations name in the menu, and one of Mumia's more recent news broadcast for background sound on the menu, add a short (1-4min) intro movie that is in someway leftist but be sure to allow them to skip it, and slap a printable cover on it including your organizations name and a leftist quote.
Give them away for free, but tell them you accept donations.
