A Boycott gone sour... - A School event boycotted...

I live in a small, cappie, righwinger town called Crawfordsville, Indiana. There are 7 punks, 2 of which are Marxists and people don't like us to much. Well anyway there's the backround. You see I go to a school full of conformists and people that cannot think for themselves. Well, we had a Pep Rally for our HORRIBLE basketball team, when I say horrible, I MEAN IT! Well, we don't enjy our sports our the people who play them. They don't seem to like any of the people who dress and think different, including myself. Anywho... This pep rally went on, and some friends of mine and I decided to Boycott and not go and try to get some people who didn't want to go and waste precious time learning the all mighty Algebra book (KIDDING). So we sat in our cafeteria. The principle, V-P, Basketball coach, and most of the teachers came in to the cafeteria, yelled at us for being rebelous losers, and how we should stop acting so "rebelious". We of course just laughed. So we were all drug out by our shirts in the hands of the teachers and forced into the gymnasium. This country has gone crazy over sports and punks. Its the like the Nazi Germany. Total Nationalist, Wannabe Youth Rallies.

I am sure glad rebels like you didn't exist when I was in school, otherwise I woud have been too intimidated to get out of bed in the morning. Hey Old Friend the point of me telling you there are only 7 of us is because Indiana is the 2nd most conservative state in the union. It sucks being different in a town that hates you because you think different. The teachers don't like us because of what we wear. Im trying to intimidate or scare anyone. Old Friend - I don't think he was trying to say that he was scary, or intimidating. Being a punk isn't necessarily about that. Again, the definition of punk changes from person to person, which is why i see no reason and no longer call myself punk. The labels are ridiculous, but if you want to use them, i wont stop you.

Anyways, in highschool, i had similar problems. I didn't wear 100 dollars shoes, i didn't sport Nike shirts and Fubu and all those other name brands that were big a few years ago, so i got hassled alot by the other kids. I never had a big problem with it though, and i still had plenty of friends. I had my crowd, they had their crowd, we didn't like each other and that was it. Eventually as we got older we all intertwined and the boundaries seemed to disappear, but thats another story. Expect to be harrased for being different, it doesn't end in highschool and this isn't ONLY in america. Prejudice exists everywhere.

Sure, when i was 13, i had my clique, but i was just a kid and knew nothing about life. As i got older, I and most other people, began to realize how fucking ridiculous that shit was, and we all "blended" (i believe i said that too). I'm not complaining about getting hassled in school, i never really gave a shit. There are always gonna be a few pricks. And, i'm glad you have the money to buy whatever you "desire" when it comes to clothing. I never have, and still don't. I but what i want if it fits into my budget. Despite our both agreeing the human mind is vastly inferior (to what, I don't know), it is your responsibility to gain insight and understanding in th eworld. And you won't grow by "learning" or listening to what others say -- you can only grow by experiencing.

Ah, it appears you have yet to master the fine art of cutting a pep rally. The last pep rally our school had, I snuck out of the building, drove away, picked my girlfriend up at school (her school also had a pep rally, our schools were playing against each other), and got laid in my car, all in less than an hour. Ah, time well spent.
