The University of Ulster has developed a method that will allow detection of biological agents within the water supply. Currently, it takes 5 days to detect pathogens like Cryptosporidium or Clostridium botulinum. With this new DNA fingerprinting method the time will be cut down to 15 minutes! Let's have another round of applause for the scientific community, as they have solved yet another one of today's pressing issues.
