I'm the new guy here and am glad to be part of this community. For a little background on who I am, I've recently embraced the ideology of anarchism, and have began studying it fairly in-depth and with lots of motivation. I before that was more of moderate/right libertarian, but after a good ammount of pondering came to the conclusion that my way of thinking was wrong or in reality wouldn't solve the core problems in our society. I'm fairly new and actually began labeling myself as an anarchist yesterday morning. I came here looking for others to share ideas with and perhaps expand my horizions or understanding of additional political ideaologies. I mainly being surrounded by people that are more conservative or 'right' my entire life, would also like to take a look more in-depth of the left side of things. I also hope to make a couple friends here as well.

If you haven't already, try reading Kropotkin and Bakunin.

Also, welcome.

Thnaks for the welcome and advice guys. I appreciate it. Can you guys reccomend me any good specific reading on the ideology of anarcho-communism (which sounds appealing to me).

Also when it comes to Communism what all should I read. I'm taking an interest in the ideals of communism and have just order Marx's Communist Manifesto. I know the basics such as checking out the writings of Trotsky, Mao, Stalin, Engels, and other various revolutionary leaders. Is there any more indepth reading on theory and such you would reccomend.

Lastly, could you guys point me to a good online directory or site which has communist or anarchist writings you can read online or helpful resorces good for a begginer that assits in the learning process?

Thanks.

Welcome to the board.

When you feel as though you'd like to start reading something more 'in-depth', you should definitely read Lenin's 'The State and Revolution'.

I wouldn't call trotsky, mao or stalin revolutionaries or communists, as there actions where oposed to revolution and communisum, though I admit they probabley wanted both.
If you are interested in the russion revolution read the bolsheviks and workers control (http://libcom.org/library/the-bolsheviks-and-workers-control-solidarity-group)

Libcom (libcom.org) has loads of stuff, The Marxists Internet Achive (http://www.marxists.org/) is also good
