I am nearly done reading the book Fanshen by William Hinton. For those who dont know about it, it is basically written from the point of view of the author, who was a professor in a university during the Revolution, and participated on a land reform work team for the agrarian revolution in a particular village. Its about this entire process of revolution in this village. It is truly an amazing book, and contains many real and beautiful lessons about how the people are transformed, cadres transformed, etc.
Does anyone want to talk about the book (the agrarian revolution, Communist Party cadres, Japanese invasion, peasant outlook, transformation of cadres by the mass of peasants, etc)?
I assume you would have to have read this book to talk about it, but it wouldnt be bad for those that havent to bring up questions about it.
I dont think this should be moved to another thread because I am not concentrating this discussion on the pages of the book, I want to talk about its historical importance it portrays.
