I've seen Charlie Wilson's War. The movie paints the USSR as just a invading hoard, mentions CIA involvement in Latin American just in passing in a positive light and act like the only think the USA did wrong in Afghanistan was rebuild it.

It is ridiculous how it tries to take itself seriously yet has the juvenile view that USA was a benevolent superpower that had only sent weapons into Afghanistan for altruistic reasons but lost interests in Afghanistan after the USSR pulled out.

A supremely idiotic movie, the religious fanatics that Charlie Wilson supported and that this movie is so crazy about were the same "freedom fighters" that included Al-Queda and would eventually form the Taliban. I admit I have not seen the movie but I've read the synopsis, seen previews and feel that I have a pretty good idea of what this propaganda is about. I have no intention of giving this reactionary film 1 penny of my money.

Good Ameircans, Evil Russians, Americans just wanna do the right thing, the restless natives just don't understand blah blah blah...I think we've all heard it before and far too many times.
