Is any crap that anybody creates worthy of the designation "Art" in a socialist or communist society? What is this, second grade? Capitalism is no better. Right now, any crap the market will bear is "Art".
How will we judge art under socialism? Are these judgments applicable towards today's art? How will our sense of aesthetics change as we move from capitalism to socialism to communism?
I guess I'll start.
I think it is fair to judge art by its content. We should judge art by the emotion it invokes in the viewer. At least under socialism. But then what room is there for experimentation? For instance most emotions we are familiar with have already been expressed in painting.
