there should be no leaders but yes Lenin did well, however if he did die when he did and lived to see a USSR not under siege (as much) i'm sure he would have stepped aside to allow a elected committe to rule

There have been a few communist theorists, but that does not equal leader.
There really hasn't been much as far as communist societies are concerned; what many people call "communist" in actuality is just "socialist".

That said, my favourite revolutionary leader was Ernesto "Che" Guevara.
My favourite socialist leader/ communist theorist was Friedrich Engels.

I must warn you, however, against hero-worshiping. It is counterproductive.
