I know there was a coup not long ago in this country. Whats the politics like there? From what i read, none of the major political parties are particularly left wing, maybe I'm wrong.
What're the labour laws like there? Are theres lots of sweatshops? Harsh working conditions? Rights to unions?

The military removed a populist government in 2006, accusing its members of election fraud. The military coup leaders drew up a provisional constituion in 2007, which was supposively passed via popular vote in a referendum. After installing a favorable constitution, elections were held, minus the previous ruling party. A centrist party, people's power, won the elections. The government has close ties with the US government.

Nowadays there are still differences between working conditions in America and Thailand.
In America the working conditions are more justiced for the people because of regulations concerning health, working hours and wages.
In contrast in Thailand there are regulations but nearly nobody keep to them. As it is shown in the statistics the people working over 50 hours there are about 16.517 in Thailand. In America there are about 14085.
In thailand more younger people work.
Mostly, they work in one big room without any air conditioning, heating, food/drinks or opportunities for washing.
These result in problems of health. Comparing to America most people work under more healthier conditions due to the regulations as well as the people work more in the third and fourth sector.
