a verry simple question; why this section is called opposing ideologies anyway?
there should have 2 restriction section if you ask me, opposing ideologies and diverging ideologies.
only a handful of people in opposing ideologies seem uber reactionary to communist, the other think differently.
many people in here are possesing diverging ideologies, social thinking that dosnt fit in the communist mold, but we are not against communism neither.
hoo damn wait ill make a pool!

Yes, but even if someone is not 'against communism' itself their ideology or social thinking can nevertheless be anti-thetical to communism. A racist who isn't 'against communism' nevertheless holds an 'OI'.

Eh, I don't really like the restriction system anyway.

i would agree with the idea of a divergent ideologies section, or making restrictions limit you to less of the site as opposed to only OI.

that would over-complicate things. Its just a name change. Most people who post on the forums reguarly know that most of the people who are restricted are not racists/right wing.

Actually, you wouldn't be restricted if you didn't hold right-winger, racist, sexist, homophone, or pro-capitalist ideologies/beliefs...

Anyway, you do make some good points about our restrictions here, but I don't think two differently named forums would solve anything.

We need RevLeft to be a Permanent REVOLUTION.
Right now, it's just the same old status quo. Rush Limbaugh could run this place and not have any issues. If you Commies believe what you say, it's time to put your beliefs into practice.
This place has gotten to be the Soviet "Da" and "Nyet." With the accent on the "Nyet." A decadent workers website.
Time for a RevLeft Revolution.
To the BARRICADES COMRADES!!!! Time to fight the Bourgeois in their factories and on their Websites!!!!

This is a forum specifically for revolutionary leftists to organize and discuss revolutionary leftist topics. If you are not a revolutionary leftist, then why would you expect us to entertain you here? There are plenty of other forums for that. This is our space. We give you OI, that's more than generous.

It is generous, and as you say--more than generous.
But RevLeft doesn't display permanent revolution--it isn't for all people, so it isn't really Communist, is it? It's sectarian and elitist. Nothing wrong with that--the House of Lords is something similar.
Just don't PRETEND to be something that you are not.
That's all I ask.

This is illogical nonsense. You don't build a bar to drink apple juice, and you don't build a revolutionary forum to talk non revolutionary politics. Absolutely anyone can join if they discuss revolutionary politics. Otherwise they are welcome to go to any of the millions of other forums for non revolutionary politics. There is nothing elitist about it.

Tut, tut, tut. I'm excluded not for what I say or what actually I DO I am excluded for WHAT I AM. I actually post revolutionary stuff. I actually DO revolutionary stuff. Not perfect, groping and learning. But you judge me for what I am. How Bourgeoise is that? :D
But I have done a lot more for the Socialist cause, if not the Communism than you or anyone else here on RevLeft has ever done.
Don't you see how insular you are?

When have you ever posted "revolutionary stuff" and when have you ever done "revolutionary stuff"?
And what you have ever done for "the Socialist and Communist (with a capital s and c nonetheless!) cause"?

Tomk-
You are a capitalist, and a Catholic, these are identities defined by actions. So it has everything to do with what you do. Your actions are antithetical to socialism.
Its really quite basic. This is like a White Slave owner talking about all he's down for the abolition movement. You are part of the problem. Deal with it.

I've posted what I've done in my factory and the changes I've made. I've been pretty frank about what I've done to make the workers part of the earning as well as part of the decision making part of their business.
Now LZ--PLEASE tell me what YOU have ever done to advance Communism? Huh?
Make signs. Hold meeting in your friend's mum's basements. Wear tee shirts saying you don't like Fascists?
So what?

not everyone have the same education or commitment to a cause.
if my boss was actually doing something for socialism or communism i would be proud of that, beccause he could have used all his money for himself and spend it on useless stuff.
you can like it or hate it, but a cause need fund, and if this guy fund a cause with a part of the money he reap from the labor of his employee, that a lesser evil.

You haven't done anything. You make your workers self manage their own exploitation. It is still your business and your profits, how is this anything but a new management fad?

Well for one thing I know what the fuck it is.
I've been involved in shitloads of activities on local and national levels, ranging from anti-war demos to helping out workers on strike.
Oh, and I don't own a factory.
Make signs. Hold meeting in your friend's mum's basements. Wear tee shirts saying you don't like Fascists?

I've never been in the basement of one of my friend's mom's, and I don't own a t-shirt saying that I don't like fascists, I think you've been hanging around the wrong crowd and are therefore projecting your own experience onto me.
Anyway, your "benevolence" sounds like the company "run along socialist lines" in Chernyshevky's novel What Is To Be Done?
I would be interested in knowing the details of that, and also proof of it.
Most importantly, I would like to know why you are the owner of the factory if it is supposed to be run along socialist/communist lines, that implies that it should be co-owned by all workers.
But as I said, I want proof of it, because you come over as a 14 year old child, not as a factory-owner with a family that goes on holidays to Italy.

Not true, I'm none of those yet I was restricted.
Certain people overreacted to a couple comments of mine and didn't let me clarify, they just restricted me straight away, now thats justice!
My restriction was totally uncalled for, I assume I'm not the only one with a restriction that isn't warranted.

Believe what you want. OK I admit, I'm 13 not 14 (a bit precocious!) Sorry, I got a bit angry, LZ.
All the best to you and yours. Personally, I like to try to discuss a person's thoughts not the person themselves--I might have failed here. (I should exclude other people's provocations from my responses.--My mistake.)
I'll do better next time.
