I really support unions, I'm an anarcho-communist and all. But I just can't get past the fact that the teacher's union destroyed the american public school system. Any thoughts? Did they even, that;s just my opinion after a first look?

False. From what I understand, the system is forcibly changing themselves to comply to No Child Left Behind and Standardized Test. Many fund, not controlled by the teacher, are going into to study into test instead of real education. Many teacher are fighting for free-loose rule to benefit themselves and the children, but the state denied this right and put strict rule that are failing our children in USA. The teacher union is formed because of the oppressive environment by the school board member, etc.
Last time, we had walkout because the school boards is giving us a fucking longest hour of class and messy alternative for every 2 days JUST FOR SAVING MONEY. This will not help any of us and it could threaten many student not to take a Academy class.

It is the state that tried to implement to do saving so the school board can raise their wage.

Our main concern is to do effective education and not some strict rule imposed by the authoritarian figure.

I have no idea on what happened in the US but you have to know this that applies on almost every non-communist or anarchist union .

The union bureaucracy which controls the union are sell-outs to the bourgeoisie and the state.
That's why we need to work inside the unions, appeal to the rank and file and overthrow the bureaucracy:)
