Nazi bashers in BNP vow
An anti-fascist organisation hell-bent on violence is targeting the British National Party's summer festival.

The hardline group Antifa - who advocate the use of extreme violence against neo-Nazi's - are calling on members to descend on the Red, White and Blue Festival next month.

The organisation has members all over Europe and were responsible for the decapitation of the waxwork Adolf Hitler in Berlin.

They are now targeting the BNP's festival. Gerry Gable, of anti-fascist magazine Searchlight said: "Antifa like getting stuck in basically.

"They are related to groups in Germany and other parts of Europe. They will confront Nazis wherever they find them. They're really quite intimidating and scary."

Antifa is using left-wing message boards to rally support for direct action against the festival.

Police were so concerned about the prospect of violence at the festival they advised councillors to refuse the BNP a license to hold the two-day event in Denby, Derbyshire, from August 15.

They told a council meeting the BNP would need a 10ft fence, floodlights and up to 400 security staff to stave off clash with the Antifa hardliners.

But despite warnings, the BNP has vowed to go ahead with the bash.

One chilling internet posting from Antifa read: "If you too are sick of the baffling success of these thick tw*ts, their lies and their hate, we urge you to join our mobilisation.

"We will be descending on their farm and wish to encourage as many people as possible to join us. We at Antifa intend to shut it down."

fuck it, let them build support for us,

it does sound rather anti-antifa if you know what i mean, but saying that we were behind the Hitler decapitation just makes us sound even more awsome.

can't find the story on the website though...

It could have been alot worse. I don't think it's that anti Antifa, they have just made us sound really extreme.

Well apparently it was a member of Antifa in Germany that took off the wax Hitler's head...

I couldn't find it on the site either. I found it on another one though...I'll post the link in a minute.

What point is Daily Star trying to get across? This sounds like a bit of red-bashing with borderline fascist sympathies.

it's demonising AFA and making us look like bastards.it's not showing us in a positive light at all.

Antifa like getting stuck in basically

this should be our new slogan!

and this kind of phrasing is what makes it a negative report, it aint portraying the fash as saints but it is hardly making a balanced argument

The article on the beheading of the Hitler waxwork is on the antifa website, if anyone wants to check that out.
The last time I checked the Daily Star wasn't a revoluntionary leftist newspaper, so why are some of you lot actually surprised that it isn't necessarily in favour of antifa? Have you not read your own founding statement? Antifa members aren't simply just against fascism- "Members of Antifa are involved in a wide variety of other anti-capitalist struggles".
Whether the writer approves of the action against the BNP festival or not, I highly doubt the editor would let a publication in the paper send a salute to a group of activists whom are out to perpretrate illegal activities, despite the authors personal inclinations.

we could use some good PR. if Nazis can do it, so can we! but i like the antifa's persona as it is.

i think it sets an interesting precedence that the tabloids are taking the side of the fash over us.

Perhaps the BNP are starting to win their trust?

Could be very bad.

I didn't think it was outrageously biased. This is probably the publics general view of Antifa currently.

But 400 security personell daaamn. How many antifascists are we expecting to turn up? I imagine far more then 400?

:p

as far as i gathered the 400 personel was a demand from the authoritys for the music/booze licence, the BNP was not able to provide tho's numbers so their licences where refused. So don't be scared that we'll be up against 400 boneheads.

@ holden caulfield: only the workers of the world? how dicriminative, i'm an art-student and i also (want to) bash some fash :p
