Hi everyone,

Just stumbled upon this site and it seemed to me that this forum boasts a really broad range of left political discussion and thought. So really my cup of tea, and I expect to find a lot of good debate and learning here.

As for persona, I'd rather not pin myself to any particular ideology since I was educated within a fundamentally skeptic discourse. So I have always postponed any self-labeling for that matter, yet without becoming apathetic or ambivalent. I hope this becomes much clearer in my endeavors on this board.

I recently got a job at "de Rooie Rat" which is a left political foundation in the form of a bookshop. And my employment there revitalized my commitment to the activist movement which was a bit smothered by my study philosophy. So I thought it would be both good for myself and for our bookshop to have a proper (international) face on the net. In time we will have our English site online for everyone to browse through.

Are Utreg and Utrecht the same place, just different versions of the name?

Utreg (ytrεχ) and Utrecht (ytrεχt) are the same, "Utreg" is the pronunciation originating from the dialect or folk slang, if you will. Utrechters (people from Utrecht) are sometimes called t-thieves, often leaving out the 't' obviously.

And yes I love Utrecht, the city that actually is a large village. :)

its not funny because it is also pejoritive against gays which is why you should not use it in any context.

Hey, do you work at the Rooie Rat bookstore?

We had a discussion group going there a couple weeks back, it would be cool if you joined it. :)
