It may be in the Guardian but that does not mean it is invalid. I recommend reading this, it is absolutely shocking.

This is the stupidest shit...*hangs head* posts like these make me want to give Stormin Norman a big hug and go buy a huge American flag to hang outside of my house!

The New York Time for February 30th: Researchers have discovered that capitalism does not work...world economies suddenly collapse as economists suddenly realize that there were some heretofore unknown fatal flaws in capitalist economics capable of making the system collapse.

Although it is an excellent piece and does raise the question that the right never seems to acknowledge: someone has to do these things so why shouldn't they be paid a decent salary?

because it is unskilled labor and that is what the market brings

Most of them are registered nurses and love of the work regardless of pay.

Just becuase it's dirty work doesn't mean they deserve anything. They took the job, they work for the pay.

How does this prove single handidly that Capitalism doesn't work?

Exactly the same question I was asking...

Yes, the problem isn't that it doesn't work, it's that it's exploitative.

mentalbunny, Capitalism does work---It's just not perfect. Look around you----everything you use, wear, all commodities were made by a private company. On the other hand, Socialism is a true failure. All countries that try to implement full Socialism (USSR, Cuba, China, N. Korea, etc.) collapsed. There's no such thing as an Utopia possible in this planet. After the colla[se of the Soviet Empire, the Leftties went on to redefine and reinvent themselves and their flawed "philosophy". Remember, Fascism and Marxism are evil twin brothers of the 20th Century.
Go here to find out more about the similarities between Fascism and Communism/Socialism:

The whole concept of "Collectivism" looks good on paper----that's about it. It's ok with me if you want to be "your brother's keeper". It's not ok with me for you to tell me what to do with my money or where I can work. Also, I like to get paid according to my abilities. Yes sir.
"What is a Communist (Marxist Socialist)? One who has yearnings
For equal division of unequal earnings;
Moocher, or looter, or both, he will holler
That paying his penny will earn him your dollar".

Those examples of communism are not valid, they are not true examples, and it does look fine on paper, and once it is put into practise the in the same way it will work. Of course capatilist countries would see this as a threat, and intervene in some way. Capatilism is represented fairly on our planet, you can see the effects of it everywhere, overweight children, *****ing and moaning about not owning the world, and children starving, working in sweatshops, clinging to the world.

Guest we're talking swings and roundabouts here, your examples are all authoritarian, not libertarian.

It's so much easier to argue the viewpoints of a patriot. All you have to do is hide behind false propoganda-laden sayings and everyone thinks you a politically-smartened man or woman. It's so much harder arguing the viewpoint which is looked down upon by others for no reason whatsoever.

It's truly disgusting to see some of you guys downtalking articles and calling it "fluff" without factual backup, yet you ask others to back up their statistics. It's as if you expect everyone else to understand what you're saying with facts, but the "Lefties" have to back up everything with a reliable source. It's so hypocritical and unfair.

Remember that Mussolini said that Marxist socialism is the exact opposite of fascism.
