I don't understand what the revolutionary left means.
Leftists? The left?

The concept of the "left" is originally derived from the system of seating in the French assembly during the French Revolution, when the liberal deputies were seated to the left of the President's chair, whereas the monarchists (who comprised the second estate) were seated to the right. In general, the left, although a diverse movement comprised of many ideological currents, exhibits support for greater social equality and opposes the market system.
The revolutionary left is a term used to describe leftists who reject existing political institutions and process as incapable of overthrowing capitalism (although leftists make use of parliaments within the framework of capitalism, to gain a platform from which to promote leftist ideas) and instead argue for armed struggle against the bourgeois state and the revolutionary overthrow of capitalism.
