i have read some interesting stuff about the kominterm, the way they trained young revolutionary, helped socialist and communist countries al over the world.
i was thinking, could an organisation like similar to this reappear, but with more pragmatic goals?
with now the basic goal of helping certain communist and socialist countries or organisations to rise, and this by all mean.
this orgonasisation would represent no countries, but could financially be backed by a group of socialist/communist countries.
the members of this group could come from all over the world, they would use what they can do the best to help socialism and communism all over the world, for exemple, a canadian soldier being member of this group could help supervise and advise a potentially succesfull revolutionary insurgency in a country x, an architect from france could help a newly formed socialist country x to build new appartements and design new industrial plans.
what do you think??

Well there are many communist internationals.
Most of them are just affliated sections joined together with little or no common congresses.
The exception(without trying to be sectarian, just a pragmatist) , is the IMT (International Marxist Tendency) which has intense bonding between sections. It holds yearly congresses and the groups are really close to eachother.
Of course there are no newly form socialist countries now(reffering to the OP) but the proletariat and its organizations work towards that. But yes I guess some of the things you describe can happen.
Finance in internationals comes from everywhere. In the IMT( it's theonly one that I know really well) does something very good. A part of the dues of the comrades in the First World goes to help the comrades of the "Third World" (Nigeria, Pakistan, South America etc) organize buy books etc.
Take that imperialism:)!

To be complete, the CWI (Committee for a Workers International - of which the IMT emerged) has a very similar if not identical structure. It has sections in about 40 countries, yet acts as one organisation.
But indeed, such an international is of vital need in building and alternative to capitalism. Only an international looking organisation can pose a counterweight to the divide and rule tactics of imperialism. Only an international like the CWI and the IMT can organise solidarity among the sections, not financial but also in mobilisations. For example, in the German city of Köln there will be an "anti-Islam congress" of fascists all over Europe in September. Our German section, with the help of the international secretariat, mobilises internationally to organise a big movement against this.
The CWI is also extremely democratically organised. Each section (of a certain size) has a member in the international executive bureau, which discusses our political stances between the congresses (which are also every year). By contrast another international, the IST (International Socialist Tendency), is dominated by its biggest section, the SWP in the UK, who dictates the political line to be followed by other sections.

Yeah, they were kicked out of the IST, but I never really looked into why exactly.

I deeply apologize for not mentioning the CWI.
I had the impression though that they hold world congresses every 8 years.
If this is true it is kind of a turn off.

Hmm, I was under the impression we had one every one or two years, but it appears to be more like every 4 to 5 years. I guess I was mixing up with congresses of national sections. So yeah, not every year, but not as long as 8 years either.
Also, the IMT doesn't appear to hold a world congress every year either, but every two years (2004, 2006, 2008, etc) as far as I could find on their website. Not to sound as a bad thing, just saying because you mentioned a yearly congress earlier on.

Well the IMT has a World congress every 2 years and a world school every two years.
So every year delegates from each country meet .
As about the 8 years that's what I heard but I will take the 4-5 years for a fact since you are yourself a member of the CWI and you would know better than me:).

Well, I wasn't counting the international summerschools, we have those every year :P
Anyway, let's stop this quibling about who gets to meet more regularly :blushing:
8 Years is the IS.
Woah. Do they have summerschools? I mean, I know the Marxism event in England, but is there a true international school aswell?
