Tool doesn't have any political songs, so I'm not sure why you mentioned them?
Anyway, there might be some leftist or Marxist metal or prog-metal bands mentioned in this thread: Link (http://www.revleft.com/vb/suggestions-good-marxist-t75010/index.html)

Napalm Death is Crust I do believe. But if you like Slayer and Hatebreed then check out some crust bands like Doom, Amebix, Iskra, Behind Enemy Lines etc.

napalm death is grindcore. Grindcore is a mix of hardcore punk and death metal so you're getting close. Extreme noise terror has some death metal parts in their music. I saw them last week and I'm still rehabilitating.
I don't know any left wing metalbands. Except for Gorefest a dutch deathmetal band. They're not communist or anarchist but they do speak out against racism en consumerism.

I don't know any left wing metalbands.
There's a Swedish metal band - their name escapes me at the moment - who identify themselves as communists, or something similar. There was a pretty decent article on them in Kerrang! a few years back - I seem to remember the article saying that they all still worked on a construction site.
Shouldn't be too hard to find out who they are if you search around a bit.

Habeas Corpus or Boikot (leftist/Spanish).
Also, Rumble Militia (metal, German anti-fascists) and Disturbed are a bit left wing anti-religious and anti-war as well

Yea, I can't think of any political metal bands. I can name many good metal bands, but I'm not sure if they are Marxists.

There are many post-metal type bands that flirts with radical concepts. Given the nature of most of these bands it is a little hard to judge, and I don't know whether "post-metal/rock" is your cup of tea either (it can be described as a mixture with progressive metal and atmospheric elements... Rock instrumentation used for non-rock-specific purposes).
Check out Neurosis, they used to be a punk band but now play dark, dark progressive metal. Not political lyrics but an awesome band.
Isis are similar in style but with more obvious references in terms of politics. Panopticon and In The Absence of Truth are two great albums.
Similar is Mouth Of The Architect, which isn't really heard of as much but their album called Quietly is incredibly good, it too delves into political concepts if perhaps not in a straightforward manner.

Not really a leftist band, but some would argue that the anxious, pessimist music and lyrics of early Black Sabbath were symptomatic of the angst felt in those working class towns in the West that were first affected by urban decline - Birmingham in this case.
Check the Stooges from Detroit for a different musical expression of the same mood and compare both bands to the hippy-dippy soft rock prevalent in well-to-do regions like California around the same time.
For slightly politicized lyrics, listen to Sabbath's War Pigs and Children of the Grave.
