I watched an extensive interiew of Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr on C-SPAN this evening, and he sounds exactly like John McCain with only a few minor differences. Are people really buying into the propaganda of the Libertarian party in America? I feel sorry for anyone who takes him or his party serious.

Libertarianism has a large following for several reasons. The first is that it reeks of 'American values of freedom.' The second is that it calls for a radically free social structure, with the dark side of the 'free market.' It is always pertinent to argue with libertarians for they have it half right... Furthermore, you can always use the tactic of arguing that the free market cannot be compatible with a 'free society.'

It will be interesting to see how Barr does on the national campaign front, since I expect some of the Ron Paul movement will move on to vote for him. He could prove to be to McCain what Nader will be for Obama: an outlet for more disillusioned and "radical"
segments of the population.

I've heard that Bob Barr isn't much of a Libertarian.
