View Full Version : Would this be a good idea for a tattoo?

Yes

Not saying I'm gonna get it, I just thought it would look cool with relative simplicity.

I'm sure it's not an original idea, but I've never seen one exactly as I thought of it.

The idea is a traditional Hammer and Sickle on the same location and size as the swastika on Edward Norton's chest in American History X. I've seen H+S tattoos before, but not like that. If you do roofing or have your shirt off a lot it will get you some attention probably.

It's a cool idea. Make sure you get it nice and bold if you're getting it in the same position as Ed.

I think its a good idea. Just don't regret it in years to come if you aren't a communist anymore ;)

if you try to get into bed with a right wing chick or dude you'll be pretty snookered though.

I wouldn't be trying to lay a right winger though  They're so fucking annoying (not to stereotype or anything...)

Getting a tattoo is a excellent idea. That way, should you ever stray from The Path (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism)™, you will have a constant reminder of what a fucking sellout you are (I have a red&black star on my shoulder myself).

Regarding this idea for a tattoo in particular: I like it!

Good idea. You can advertise communism by taking your shirt off. You could be your own billboard!!:D

it sounds kinda cool but its not something i would consider, to me it just represents a failed attempt at equality that created nothing good

but ultimately i think you should get tattoos that are important to yourself, which would be individual, and not care what others think you should get

so bottom line if the hammer and sickle is important to you and your way of life go ahead and get it, not to mention that it will look pretty cool

but then again, what if in the future you want to become a secret agent for a worker's state?, the tattoo will give you away.

You should always avoid getting political tattoos if you take your revolutionary activity seriously.

Tattoos become recognizable on you, and before you know it, your being targeted simply because of the tattoos you have. Also, in a revolutionary situation, your tattoos will give you away to the counter-revolution and will most likely end in your execution, even if you decide to get it somewhere concealable.

I'd advise against it, but trust me, I want one badly as well.

This.

To me it seems like a fashion statement in rather the same way as idiots who go round with CCCP or Che Guevara t shirts for no other reason than they think it looks 'cool' in a vacuous avant garde sort of way.

Plus if you get arrested for political reasons the filth would be inclined to use it as evidence against you.

Does the hammer-and-sickle represent communism in general or the Soviet Union specifically? Because I have a h&s t-shirt but I'm anti-Soviet.

either in the first or in the seccond international it was agreed that the hammer and stickle would represent communism in general, not just the soviet union.
