59 Socialists in Congress - 2002
By Chuck Morse

On the extreme left wing of the Democratic Party, The Progressive Caucus is affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, which, in turn, is the American affiliate of the Socialist International. Congressional Caucus members, I would contend, should actually be called Socialists rather than Democrats. Unlike their European counterparts, these homegrown American Socialist Congressmen try to refrain from showing their true authoritarian colors. Such displays would be too risky in an America that is still steeped in traditional freedoms. There are still enough of us out here who would boot them out of office if they revealed too much of their true stripe.

Socialists, like Communists, Nazis, Klansmen, or other political groups, rightfully enjoy the same constitutional protections as the rest of us. Unlike their more radical aforementioned counterparts however, the socialists believe in changing the system by "boring from within" rather than through illegal violence and sedition. As such, they prefer legislation, often filled with deceptive legalese and passed through Congress by duplicitous means, as their choice of arms in their quest toward revolutionary goals. Socialists are gradualists rather than extremists. They are slowly chipping away at our G-d given rights.

Freedom loving Americans would be well advised to keep a close eye on socialist Congressmen. While they may talk like the rest of us, especially when sojourning in their respective districts, they operate from a different paradigm. If they decide to support a war against Iraq, for example, or any other intervention overseas, their motives would more likely be based on an agenda that seeks to entangle the US in a new world order than in protecting the interests of sovereign America.

As a matter of principle and as an article of faith, socialists support a socialist world government as an ultimate goal. The method they employ is the gradual transfer of constitutional responsibilities from elected American legislatures to international agencies accountable to no one. Socialists are apt to support such things as international standing armies, an international tax, the transfer of American capital to third world dictators, and the surrender of congressional responsibilities to the UN, the WTO, the IMF, UNESCO and now the International Criminal Court. Whenever communistic protocols emerge out of a UN sponsored conference, as is always the case, and whenever such un-American protocols are rejected by a still largely patriotic Congress, the socialist congressmen and their allies will more than likely try to foist the protocol on the American people through a back door.

Socialists believe in sovereignty eroding entanglements abroad and big-state socialism at home. They support high taxes on working people with the money transferred to bureaucracies staffed by their friends. They support a welfare state that oppresses poor people, especially minorities, who then become their constituents. They support left-wing judges who are willing to subvert the democratic power of Congress by making laws from the bench. While they support mandatory public education, mandatory labor unions, mandatory racial quotas, land-grabbing environmental regulation, and thought control in the form of hate speech legislation, they turn around and become downright libertarian when it comes to pornography, abortion, sex, drugs, homosexuality, and other agendas that debauch the citizenry.

LMAO. That's hillarious; other than the fact that most socialists and communists would probably try to kill him, and most of those people on site; I can only add that most of them are corporate-loving businessmen, who are in no way related to socialism. Wellstone was maybe the one exception, but he's gone now.

I see that the author, probably a Reaganist, puts the Socialists in the same category as Nazis and Klansmen. Fuckin' asshole.

Chuck Morse should be take so seriously. He isn't a red freak just searching for any kind of connection to communists or liberals to something else currently disliked.

Since Sept. 11th 2001, Islam's fanatics have been killing "infidels" en masse around the world, particularly Jews, in planned extermination campaigns that, if left unchecked, could reach the ferocity of the Nazi Holocaust. At times like this, it is altogether fitting to revisit the subject of Communism, the first modern terror movement. An understanding of the mind and political faith of the Communist lends insight into the mind of today's Islamist terrorist.

He is pretty smart too. He explains that conservatives are not all the same, as he tanks all progressives together and generalizes them all.

Instead of deriding Blacks, Jews, Gentiles, Women, or Gays, which would be most unfashionable these days, the new progressive chooses instead to pour out his wrath against Conservatives, religious Christians, and religious Jews. .... Do they believe that all conservatives are the same? What did conservatives or religious people ever do to them?

And it isn't like the man doesn't see a red scare everywhere he looks with great titles to his editorials like.

Did Communists Infiltrate the Catholic Church?

How Communist is Public Education?

Radical Islam and Communism

Oh and he also believes that the U.S. Government did the Oklahoma City Bombing.

The Oklahoma City Bombing and the Reichstag Fire

Communism in Black American History

hehehehehe This guy needs to get back into his time machine, find Mcarthy and give the man a blow job. I haven't seen somebody so scared of something since Howard Hughes' fear of germs.

Wait till next week when we see the following editorials by him.

Communism in your dish towels, the left's chances at making your dishes dirty

Children trying to be communists by sharing their toys when friends come over

Only a communist would go into a store and ask for change and not buy something, why do they hate America and God?

wasnt Wellstone one of the only Senators to vote against NAFTA and against war with Iraq? I think he also fought for workers rights and was against sweat labor.

Dyermaker, the press does that to make Socialism or Communism look as evil as Nazis or the KKK.
Dyermaker you are probally right it was a Reaganite who wrote it. You can tell by how he demonizes abortion and gays.

Yeah.... Racism is something that these Socialist try to push for. I mean, America is great right now. We have all these great "anti-Nigger" laws. They protect the white people, and the black people, by killing the black people before they do anything. The most effective law, especially in New Jersey, is "driving while Black". Another strong one in New York is "Being Black on a Saturday night". I love this country, it has elavated me greatly. Damn those Commie racist for trying to destroy our good and fair society.

I like how he defines what socialists are...

"As a matter of principle and as an article of faith, socialists support a socialist world government as an ultimate goal. The method they employ is the gradual transfer of constitutional responsibilities from elected American legislatures to international agencies accountable to no one. Socialists are apt to support such things as international standing armies, an international tax, the transfer of American capital to third world dictators...etc, etc."

Pretty funny seeing as I don't agree with that at all...I must not be a socialist!

"G-d given rights" - God never gave rights if anything he took em away you need to read your bible pal and learn a little bit mor about the biblical society of israel whose holy writings (the hebrew bible/tanakh/tora) advocate war, rape, murder of innocents and children, and about every other crime against humanity, you wanna debate it post me and ill hit yuh bak with a nice long list of verses. Sorry its off topic but i saw it and its 5 in the morning and im still awake and felt the urge to say something.

It's funny dark cappie cuz if international law and standards had been in affect back in the 1930's Hitlers nazi germany woulda been a bug on the damn windshield. If your so foolish as to suggest their is not a set of universal standards that every nation (even the rich and powerful us of a) needs to be held accountable for you should get out of the forum and go join dead arab forum ud fit right in. Its international laws on such things as war, genocide, and interventionalism which hold the last strongholds of freedom together and thats what bothers you isnt it man. I bet yuh get real scared thinking of what that international court could do to a country whose only option to hold on to its global hegemony is through a 400 billion $ military that intervenes in "rogue states(states containing valuable resources that can be used as a chokehold on economic competition in japan and europe (iraq for example)) Smart cappies like you understand the importance of keeping the u.s free from standards that would keep it from spreading its plague of war and terror throughout the globe and free from punishment when attrocities from these global adventures leak. If an international court ever did come around it would serve as a potent deterrent against the only thing keeping ur sinking ship floating ur boats and bombs'. HAHAHA thats good man the left in support of financial aid to brutal dictators. Who financed the contras fool (who wer somozas old guard in new clothes) cough ollie cough. WHo rallied around osama back in the 80's? Who fought to keep iraq free from sanctions suggested by liberals bak in 88 wen it was leaked that sadamm gassed the kurds (REAGAN) If your gonna say such putrid lies why dont you site some specific examples buddy and not just espousing your vague rhetoric comparing the last defenders of freedom and justice in this world(the left) to nazis and the kkk! The kkk was responsible for the deaths of socialists at a rally in the late 70s early 80s how dare you even use the 2 in the same sentence. After all the indigenous resistance forces of ww2 that helped to bring about the destruction of fascism wer largely socialist/communist. I dont recall to many burgeois buisinessmen out in the trenches.

Democratic Socialists of America, which, in turn, is the American affiliate of the Socialist International.

And The "New Labour Party" is the UK's affiliate in the Socialist International.

I'm sure you know the labour party's leader Prime Minister Tony Blair... the same Blair that has been called a lap dog to George W. Bush.

I guess it's 58 now that Wellstones dead. Still, this is a situation that needs to be examined closely.

Jesus H. Christ!! At least let the his body get cold before you start to disrespect the man. You do nothing but perpetuate the conspiracy theory that his death was no accident.

As to the "Democratic Socialists of America." You give them far too much credit than their organization deserves.

This past Election in New York they supported H. Carl McCall the democratic candidate for Governor over Stanley Aronowitz.

While Aronowitz has spent his entire life as a labor organizer, anti war demonstrator and has written many books on Marxism, social and political problems in the United States.

H. Carl McCall however has ties to corporate corruption, fully supports the war on Iraq, occupation of Palestine, and the racist Rockefeller drug laws in New York State.

Yet... this "Socialist" organization supported H. Carl McCall. Part of the reason that I no longer call myself a "Democratic Socialist" is their unconditional support of a Gubernatorial candidate who was worse than the republican incumbent.

Yes you listed alot of Democrats there that are members of the "Demcoratic Socialists of America" .... so what they are still just worthless liberal democrats.

Real Democratic Socialist party is the Socialist Party, even though quite a few people have left it for the Green Party, so you better start attacking the third parties to DC!
