Forgive me if this has been done before. I'm a relative newcomer to che-lives (long may it live).
At www.politicalcompass.org is a website that plots political position on a two-dimension grid. The vertical axis gauges beliefs on social issues and the horizontal axis gauges beliefs on economic issues.
I'd like to see a few responses before I give my own.

Why must you wait before you give your own? This has been presented before, and is a sticky thread. Anyway, I took it twice and both times I got around -6 and -6.

If you go to ChitChat, it'll be the first thread there.

Economic Left/Right: -10.00
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8.15
This confirms what I thought. Anarchosyndicalistic, I am proud...although I do sympatize with some authoritarian lefts, but Libertarian left is my piece :)

Thanks Comrade.
It's out of bounds for me. I'll respectfully stay in the "Socialism vs. Capitalism" forum.
Put me down at :
+5 on the economic left/right
-2 on the social up/down

To Dark Capitalist: You're a member of Moskitto's forums, and one of the nice capitalists on Che-Lives. Therefore I was concerned about your ideological changes. So, I did some research:
http://www.che-lives.com/cgi/community/upload/dc.gif
As you may see, I have traced your movement and figured out how it will progress during the coming 15 months. It will move in a circle. each three months, your ideology will change steadily.
But when you're at the vey top of the circle, after a year, you feel lonely. You desperately search for capitalist company. You hurry up and stop when you have reached the first group of people. They're leftists. When you're about the same place as me on the compass, you will realise that there's a better way. You never reach the cappies, you stay with us.
Hereby, I conclude that there's nothing to worry about.

LOL That looks more like FadeTheButcher than me. Besides, I'd never become that authoritarian.

I find that quite strange. When I got my last results, I started fooling around with the questions and I discovered that I cannot go any further left without becoming less libertarian. I find it weird that it you can get almost 10 - 10 on the right but not on the left.

I was just re-reading all the questions again and when I got to the question about inflation and unemployment, I misread it. The question is not a very good one because it does not state whether if you pick strongly disagree, you are saying that both should be equally controlled or whether unemployment should be controlled more. If I go with it that both are as equal and choose for strongly disagree then I actually get -10 and -10.

Like I have said before, I am pretty middle of the road, according to this chart. I don't really like these things because they trap you into answering questions that are poorly worded.

Haha, I don't want to take it again but I'm like -6 on economic and 4 on authoritarian. I've found that alot of leftists take the test biasedly and don't answer what they'd honestly do, just to be as left as possible.

I got -10 economic, -3 libertarian/authoritarian.
Yet, on this board I am branded as authoritarian. So authoritarian i can't post in anything other than OI. Obviously not a socialist, a capitalist am I? A fascist?
Why does it tell me I am -10 left/right then?

I question the credibility of this quiz.
Many of the questions were obviously paraphrased from the psuedoscientific "Authoritarian Personality" studies by Adorno and Horkheimer, particularly their F-Scale quiz, which you can view here:
http://www.anesi.com/fscale.htm
Among other things, Adorno identified resistance to modern art, and sexual dubachery as a "predictor" of authoritarian tendencies. Much of it was based on the fraudulent psychoanalysis techniques developed by Freud.
Adorno and Horkheimer's work was discredited by later social psychology scholars. If you've ever read their book, it's a laugh riot.
Solzhenitsyn

Check that. Some questions on the political compass (PC) quiz were outright plaigarized from "The Authoritarian Personality" (TAP). Anybody remember these questions?
[4] The business man and the manufacturer are much more important to society than the artist and the professor
[7] Young people sometimes get rebellious ideas, but as they grow up they ought to get over them and settle down.
They're exactly the same in PC and TAP F-Scale.
The PC questions:
"It's fine for society to be open about sex, but these days it's going too far."
and
"Astrology accurately explains many things."
are paraphrased from these TAP questions:
[29] The wild sex life of the old Greeks and Romans was tame compared to some of the goings-on in this country, even in places where people might least expect it.
[21] Some day it will probably be shown that astrology can explain a lot of things.
The PC question "Some people are naturally unlucky."
Is meant to measure the same thing as these ATP questions:
[19] Some people are born with an urge to jump from high places.
[5] Science has its place, but there are many important things that can never be understood by the human mind.
and this PC question:
"Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all."
Was ripped from another TAP scale. The C-Scale which purportedly measures cultural authoritarianism, I think. Adorno and Horkheimer made several besides the F-Scale. This PC question is directly from the TAP S-Scale which purportedly measures anti-semitism.
"Jews surely have to take some of the responsibility for their persecution over the past 2000 years."
The more I read the PC quiz the more I find it is a modern retread of TAP.
