Oh just great.

The Washington Post
U.S. Social Security May Reach To Mexico (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A9342-2002Dec18)

"Pushed by the Mexican government, the Bush administration is working on a Social Security accord that would put tens of thousands of Mexicans onto the Social Security roster and send hundreds of millions of dollars in benefits south of the border."

I guess we shall see whose votes are more important; those of the actual American people, or those of a bunch of illegal immigrants who do not have the right to vote. Bad move politically, my friend. Expanding services to illegal immigrants, while most states are facing severe budgetary concerns, and having to raise taxes as a result, is bound to be very unpopular. This guy could shape up to be the most unpopular president of all time, if he continues to pander and ignores the values of the people who voted for him in the first place. His poll numbers should be plummeting right about now. The American people do not want to hear that the president is going to add the final straw to a camel that was slated to go bankrupt somewhere between 2020 and 2040. What ever happened to the executive branch which enforces the law? Seems it has been replaced by a bunch of wet noodles that allow people to steam role our country's laws in massive numbers. We need leaders with spines right now, not leaders who further degrade the overall strength of the nation. I know we are strong, but how much longer can we be expected to shoulder the burdens of the world. I fear we are going to end up as third world as Mexico if this persists.

well, I guess it's ok, it's not exactly the first time the US has interferred with Mexican politics...

Why is this okay with you? Don't you see that it is the Mexican government's responsibility to provide its own citizens with these benefits. In fact, this type of welfare state is the exact reason the Mexican economy remains in trouble. During the Cardenas administration the state of Mexico set up a most wonderful package for 'all the people of Mexico'. They also chased away foreign investments and took to nationalizing various industries. Their directed economic approach and the public programs set up by the Mexican government turned out disasterous. During the 70's and 80's they thought oil would buy them out of the crisis. However, once they started to see wealth again they squandered it on more programs that failed. Mired with waste and corruption once again the 'Mexican miracle' turned out to be a lemon. Oil prices plunged and decimated the frail economy built by overwhelming dependence on the oil market. They turned to us and we helped like we always do.

How many more times can we be convinced that sinking money into the exact same kinds of programs that have proven to kill the promising economies of other nations? Eventually it will happen to us. Eventually we will end up as broke as all those we have unquestioningly sent billions and trillins of dollars to. Do you think they will then send us humanitarian aid? They would love nothing more than to see us starve, the miserable vultures.

It's ridiculous to think that we should be able to help fund another country's social services when we can not support our own. Ask yourself, why can't this country afford to pay for its own social services? Largely it is due to previous failures in providing those kinds of benefits. Man the world makes me want to poke my eyes out and go blind sometimes. Maybe then I can not see the utter imcompetence that others seem to be so oblivious to. Holy shit!

That counrty had all the necessary ingredients needed to become rich. Nationalism and socialist economic policy killed it. We did try to make it rich. As stated before they drove out foreign investment. Blame them, not us. Why should we be expected to make them rich?
