Hey I was just there, so I'll give you a few things you can see. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where Rosa Luxemburg was killed, but there are a bunch of other things I noticed.
First off the top of my head, on the sidewalk next to the Berliner Dom, there's a really small monument to a group of people who destroyed a Nazi anti-communist exhibit in the 40's. You shouldn't miss it if you look for it.
You saw the Soviet war memorial in Treptower Park, right? You probably did, but if not, definitely see that.
In front of the Reichstag, there's a memorial to the members of parliament murdered by Hitler and his goons; most of them are KPD members, with some SPD and liberals thrown in (it's a pretty interesting memorial, not too big though). Also, going up to the top of the Reichstag and being within spitting distance of where the red flag was flown in 1945 is really powerful. It's free and it has a great view of Berlin so you should do it anyway (go early or late to beat the crowds, I think it closes at 22.00).
The statues of Marx and Engels are really neat, it's facing the Berlin "needle" (television tower, which is also a socialist sight, near Alexander Platz).
On Karl-Marx-Allee (go to Alexander Platz station and walk past the fountain and keep going, there's a lot of construction at the entrance right now but the Allee itself is well-kept), there's an ice-cream shop that sells DDR ice cream and treats. I really enjoyed it, and it might be fun for you to do, too. Go down Karl-Marx-Alle from Alexander Platz and it's on your right after a 10-15 minute walk. If you want to go straight there using the metro, Strausberger Platz is real close to it, keep walking south-east to get to it (it's still on your right). They also have a small but interesting exhibit (German only, but you should get the jist of it) on the street and its significance, along with some pieces of the old Stalin statue that was destroyed. While you're walking there, notice the Soviet-style architecture all around you, it dates to the 50's IIRC (there's an information board near the entrance from Alexander Platz-direction that tells you some stuff about the construction of the Allee).
The Russian embassy, which was the Soviet embassy, offers an interesting glimpse of the Soviet Union. There are tons of hammer-and-sickles, stars and other Soviet imagery. It's on Unter den Linden, on the southern end (so to the right if you're walking FROM the Brandenburg Gate, left if you're walking TO the Brandenberg Gate).
You need a library card, but if you manage to get into the Stadtbibliotek (if I spelled that right, it's off Unter den Linden), the second floor has Lenin's desk during his time in exile. Karl Marx himself also studied there. There's supposed to be a DDR-era glass-stained window in the back, but I wasn't able to find it.
Going to Sachsenhausen, the concentration camp outside of Berlin, is a bit of a hike but is something you might want to see (I wasn't blown away at all, but there is a lot of interesting stuff in the information rooms). I'm not exactly sure how to get there (my friend was showing the way).
To be honest, there are a lot of little monuments to the communists and socialists who opposed Hitler, as well as the Spartacus fighters, but they are spread-out and in German. I remember yet another concrete block with Liebknecht's name on it (I couldn't read it) on Potsdamer Platz, and I vaguely remember a few others. Just keep your eyes open and you might find something of note.
I might remember something later, but those were some stuff I just thought of. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Go to the top of Reichstag at night. The top is open and you can lie on this thing and just look up into the sky, well romantic and shit to.
Go watch a 3d cinema film!

You can visit the river where Rosa was thrown in after being murdered (the Landwehrkanal canal/ in the Tiergarten park). You can also visit her and Liebknecht's grave in the Zentralfriedhof Friedrichsfelde cemetery. Other than that, go to the wax figure museum and they also have a erotic/sex museum which is pretty interesting. It is near the Berlin Zoo, which you should definitely visit since its one of the best zoos in the world.
