I used to believe that Free Market and A Mixed Market like we have here in Canada was a great system. I did some reading, and learned a few things about Communism and I took the test up at Political Compass, and it showed me as about halfway on the left side. I have done alot of reading lately, and for all you capitalists, you should really take a look at yourself and capitalism as a whole. It really isnt that great, I thought everything worked to great here, but it really doesn't. Not to fully say Adam smith was wrong in his idea of free enterprise. Karl Marx was a truly remarkable theorist. His idea of the command economy was a great idea. Many people want power though, which is why the free market runs USA. Communism is a great system in my honest opinion. It is hard to change the minds of people thrown into the capitalist society. I have noticed the people I know who are lefties are way more open minded on things, and the 'cappies' I know tend to make up there minds before they know everything and always think one way. Maybe its just me, but thats why free enterprise reigns in USA, they dont have to make up there minds its already made up. Communism is very broad, many people view it as a hateful word around where I live. Lots of people have no fuckin clue about what communism really is. My idea is to refer these people who we know to take the Political Compass test and I have a very good feeling that these people will come up as a lefty. I believe that 3/4's of people are lefties they just dont want to admit it. Well this is alot of typing, and I just been speaking my thought's. try to take this as open minded as possible and make sense of it. thx

I used to criticize communism based on what was taught to me in school. I really had no idea what communism was but I didn't relize it. That just shows the disfunction in US schools. I soon relized that what you learn in school doesn't give you a complete understanding of the topic. So therefore I read some more about communism and joined this site and now I believe that communism is the next step toward a greater peaceful world.

what i learnt in school was things i picked up when i wuld say a thing or 2 bout communism, was, it is evil and usa hates it, so that goes 2 show just how open minded they are.

Communism looks great on paper yeah. But Communism in practice? I don't think so. Its unrealistic to believe that Communism will work effectivley. Large societies just aren't ready for Communism. It's a great dream, with a nightmarish reality. Lol, and the lower 'working' class is fastly becoming more mechanised as the years go on. I guess you could have a machine revolution instead. :)

That's right! Death to the workers! From now on, we'll all be corrupt politicians and economic criminals.

Probably not, if it leads to machines replacing people, people will revolt and own the machines haha.

Also, other things to keep in mind is, communism has been brough before, its cappies and selfish basterds that destroyed it. It would work, if people saw that it's the only way. hmm...

if you embrace democratic socialism you can achieve communism....
yet you can achieve capitalism without democracy or any type of freedom at all, and this simple thing makes communism superior to capitalism

Capitalism didn't destroy Communism. The gross ineqaulities and problems that accompany communism have been present with every large scale country it has been brought upon. Using Capitalism as the scapegoat for Communisms failures isn't fooling many people.

No it really isnt lol. If every country were to be Communist. i have a damn good feeling health care, food problems, population, crime, and resources would all be fixed. But communism wuld get corrupted oiver time, people are naturally greedy

"i have a damn good feeling health care, food problems, population, crime, and resources would all be fixed."

History would dictate otherwise.

has there always been true communism everywhere? everything has been corrupt in its own way, think about it

It's not just corruption, although Communism leaves just as much room for it as Capitalism. Communism values a conformity that many people don't want to follow. In my opinion, It's rediculus to think that a society can run itself in the fashion that Communism suggests. Even small scale tribal 'Communism' had chiefs and wisemen directing everything. Most people just don't want to live working for exactly what they need. And when we work for exactly what we need, we loose innovation. If we have everything that we need, and it works 'efficiently', then there is no reason to improve. I think that life looks dull, and unprogressive.

then give some inspiration, a little reward for accomplishing certain things etc, give meaning and innovation to life while still keeping the aspects of communism

Who to give will give it though? How will people agree on who to give inspiration?

Heh, just wait till I get around to posting my book, you know humans are going to become obselete once we all become clones of ourselves (which is the evantual outcome unless we segregate everyone, all the genes will cross and sure, great for communism, all equal, but I'm really looking forward to the day that there ceases to be a use for humanity)
