View Full Version : Kickstarting Communism

Firstly, I wanted to say that I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong place or whatever, I felt this was probably the safest place to post a new topic of this nature.
I guess, simply put, I wanted to know if there were some common theories on how to bring communism to the capatilist world that most of us likely live in? Aside, if reasonable, the idea that capitalism will simply decay into communism over an extended period of time.
My personal thoughts are that communism seems an unrealistic goal, at least with the current state of the world, without significant changes in the mindset of the average person. What is the answer to this?
Apologies if this sort of discussion is outside the bounds of the forum.

So, the Party of World Revolution suggest an approach which ulimately hopes to bring about communism through education of the working masses over time and having them help overthrow the existing leadership?
Does this strategy (or any other suggested ones) need to be invoked on a national or global level to be successful? Is it not likely that a national implementation of communism would/could be reacted to with hostillity by largely capitalist remaining countries, is there a good solution to this?
Also, as something of a side question, if true communism was achieved within a single country, what should be that countries approach to importing/exporting with remaining capitalist countries? Would this be acceptable or are the existing ideas of trade based too much on capitalist ideals?

I hope you find some of this helpful.
That's a deterministic view that really has nothing to do with the communist outlook (despite the fact that so many "communists" hold it).
We have to deal with the conditions we live in yes, but it is only through our own action that we can make the kind of future that we want. Socialism and communism will never "just come about" without an organized fight lead by the working class.
Its good to see you say this. Too often, communists talk about the revolution as if were simply an eventuality. The goodness or desirability of communism is off-limits, for whatever reason.

This is all very interesting, I will attempt to thoroughly read as much of the material put forward as I can, logistical questions can often be the ones with the most insightful answers.
And may I add that I really appreciate not being belittled for my lack of understanding :D
