America is an odd place where the term "Libertarian" can have its meaning dramaticly shifted to represent right wingers who are against the government.

Basicly these people are stupid. While they believe that the existance of government is tyranical and needs to be abolished, they believe in the existance of Capitalism which is tyranical by nature.

Here's an interesting "Libertarian" test I found:

I may be mistaken, but I believe that in America a 'libertarian' is economicaly to the right and moraly to the left. Basically a republican that doesn't push his moral religious bullshit on people. And, yes, like Republicans, the libertarians are for smaller government, lower taxes and favor the privatization of everything.
I view these people as 'blind'. They love their 'wonderfu' system, yet their completely ignorant of the consequences suffered outside the US.

Is it morally permissible to exercise "vigilante justice," even against government leaders?

bullshit, that's what they did in Paulsgrove, and none of them ever got a fair trial.

i saw in the title that liberationists are "anarcho"-capitalists. if they are "anarcho"-capitalists, how come they participate in elections, while anarchism is anti statist?

Well, most Libertarians aren't what you would call "Anarcho-Capitalists"...Anarcho-Cappies are pretty rare and obviously insane. People like Ayn Rand were Anarcho-Cappies. Just try reading anything of her's with a straight face!

Libertarians, as in the Libertarian Party in the United States, believe in total non-intervention in the economy and the personal life...basically the market will take care of everything. They do, however, believe that government is neccessary for protection (the military).

They believe that they represent the intentions of America's origional founders which is bullshit...their poster-child is Thomas Jefferson who was actually a populist/socialist but a coward on the issue of slavery (I still like the guy, though). The Jefferson thing is pretty ironic...almost as ironic as the Christian Coalition having a picture of the Lincoln Memorial on the main page of their website when Abe Lincoln was a Deist and denied the divinity of Christ!
I believe you can find their website at www.lp.org or something like that.

thanks, and about thomas jefferson, i kind of liked his quote saying "When a long train of abuse and usurpations reveal a settled design to subject them to absolute rule, it is not only the people's right but also their duty to throw off such government and provide new guards for their future security."

Thomas Jefferson was not a capitalist nor a Socialist.

Thomas Jefferson's dreem was not a nation run by corperations, he feared influence of big city markets in politics which is why he wanted the capital moved from it's origional spot in New York, to Washington DC.

Thomas Jefferson did believe in smaller government. However not one in the hands of corperation, nor worker but rather a nation run by plantation owners such as himself.

lol.. but you have to admit that the whole "anarcho-capitalism" thing is a bit much, even for a supporter of capitalism such as yourself.

yeah, it is, i think libertarians may have good intentions (like most people), but I don't think that they understand the far-reaching implications of their ideology, which basically approaches anarchy

Actually, Jefferson believed that the ultimate freedom was everyone owning their own piece of land...not plantation owners being in control.

Just a word on Jefferson; wasn't he the guy who said he wished America to be free of "blot and mixture"? Meaning, he wanted natives and africans removed?

Ayn Rand is an Objectivist, not an Anarcho Capitalist, Objectivism is an absolutist ideology that opposes Anarcho Capitalism.
