What do you think of the Zapatistas and the Chiapas rebellion?

I think it's great that the people take action so they can harvest rebellion instead of death. The government has been oppressing them waaay too long, and now they're gonna get their dignity.

Thanks for it, in the first place, Natives are no longer invisible beings. Besides, they have understood they got the right to free themselves from the oppression they have gone thru for generations now.
One of the main reasons why the Mexican Government is so interested in taking away the lands from the Natives is because itīs full of economically important minerals -and oil, not to mention the kind of good soil Chiapas got for agriculture exploitation.
Subcomandante Marcos made the Natives of Chiapas remember they got a dignity and a pride to preserve, and, extensively, it made it remember to Natives all over the American continent.

Basically AK the Mexican government is trying to take away the land in Chiapas. Its really shady because the land is guarenteed to the poor unde article 26(think thats it) of the mexican constitution. The people there live in horrible conditions something like 1 in 3 are literate, most don't have running water or indoor plumbing or electricity. And sadly America backs the Mexicans in the campaign.

yes, yet we must use caution. I recently stumbled upon a memorandum between Mexico and U.S. regarding the "forests" in Mexico.????

there is no reward in helping the poor.
