-i've watched a lot of debate go on between SN and Vox and find it a useful tool for attending to my own development. i'm curious about one thing though; SN will often begin his threads with a slur or insult. He'll start a thread and ask a [seemingly] sincere question, but then sprinkled through the post are insults - he'll call lefties 'sub-human filth' or hope for our violent death.

-SN seems like he can count to 10 and chew his food with his mouth closed. Whether I agree with what he says or not he is clearly bright - why does he feel the need for personal attacks? Can't he just present his view and invite discussion?

-on a related note I wanna thank Vox for his patience and posts; both have been invaluable.

I'm also a frequent listener. I've also noticed the same trend in SN arguments, he always uses insults even in a forum for non-debating I created he had to use insults. I also can't understand why SN hasn't changed a bit since he started posting here, you would think that by now he would atleast respect our opinions. I just don't see why he insists on calling us ignorants and considering us to be below humanity.
On the other hand vox always seems to keep his cool and points out SN weaknesses and mistakes by saying things to grab your attention. He doesn't go as low as SN with the frequent insults.
I see vox as the clear cut winner.

Dude, no offense to SN, but I think our (vox and I's) clash of the Titans was quite impressive.

Hell, vox tried to get me banned. It was a multi-thread/ affair which stretched across three different forums at the same time (here; Chit Chat; and the Commie Club). No bullshit. I'll provide links if you're interested.

Also, Peacceniked and vox, so I've heard, have had quite the "spat" or two. Except now, apparently, they're chess buddies.

Vox usually sticks to the issues, but when the issue is insults he sure dishes them out. Quite well and vicously I might add.
I suppose a lot of the time when she feels that the issue is being avoided he decides that the issue is insults and work away.

Stormin Norman is obviously intelligent, but fails to use his brain very often. She usually stick to racism, sexism, bigotry and outright attacks.

This is all kind of surprising to me. SN and I have gone a lot of rounds, but, truthfully, I'm a bit bored with him now. It's always kind of the same, you know?

As for what AK said, here are the facts:

I left this board for a while. When I came back, the first post by AK that I read was about the movie "Fight Club." You can view the thread here (http://www.che-lives.com/cgi/community/topic.pl?forum=17&topic=901). My response is on page three. At that time I was unaware that Malte had changed the policy, briefly, and was allowing right-wingers to post in Chit Chat, so I thought AK should be caged, like the rest of them, in this forum.

However, when AK says that I think he should be banned, he errs. In fact, the last time this came up, and AK, in his typical manner, blamed me for it, I wasn't even the one who started the topic. AK, though, in his true and genuine hatred for me, blames me. Such is his mentality, on display for all to see.

It's also true that peacceknicked and I got into it once. Quite a foul affair, that, though beneficial to me, at least. I still don't like Leninism, but, because of the reading I had to do, have a different opinion of it now than before. That, I think, is a good thing and one of the better purposes of this board.

Oh, and yeah, I can be rather insulting. Some people like it, some don't, but hey, vox has to have a little fun, huh? :)

When I started on this board I was not insulting to people. I never resorted to ad hominem attacks. My positions were carefully laid out and I won many debates. Some of you were so intimidated by my greatness and could do nothing support your assertions that you were the first to start the name calling. For weeks I suffered a barrage of personal attacks by those inferior to me. It progressed to a point where the moderator of this sight placed the words Stormin Moron under my avatar. Everyone here can attest to the fact that I am not a pacifist. Therefore, I fight fire with fire. There are some of you I respect, though not many. I feel that many other people that I have had words with could easily restore relations if we kept things at a level of mutual respect. Much of my hostility has to do with the fact that I have not received that courtesy on this board. Other times some people do not understand my sense of humor and believe that I am serious when I am not. Perhaps my joking manner has given some of you the wrong idea about me. At times I bring it on myself. Then there are those times when I am way off base and have to apologize for my behavior. Whatever the scenario, this is simply a bulletin board and should not be taken too seriously by anyone. If we were having the same debates face to face, I would not be forced to resort to violence. Differences in viewpoints are acceptable. However, if I were to be insulted like I have been by some of you, I would most certainly kick someone in the face. My personality here is simply a manifestation of not being able to retaliate in that fashion. Pent up anger and rage overcomes my better judgement at times. I apologize to those of you who have not deserved my tongue lashings. Sometimes they get dealt out indiscriminantly.

Seriously, I think that the real question is who is most adept at completely and totally destroying the arguments of Stormin' Normin...vox or myself? Maybe I'm too cocky [not as cocky as SN, of course] but I think that I put forward completely rational and potently effective arguments.

To be honest, SN is the easiest Cappie I've ever had to argue with...aside from people my own age. It sometimes seems as if he isn't even trying. My favorite quirk of his is how he will never admit defeat, even after he has [figuratively] been reduced to a parapalegic!

I also want to add I consider it a break-through vox admitted it throws down with the insults now and again. As it's among the hardest tests of endurance known to man to get vox to admit it ever does ANYTHING wrong.

vox is interesting. Stormin Norman brought up a brilliant point. vox is, without a doubt, the most partisan member on the whole board. Proof of this:
